then St Johnstone on the way back, with a 2000 following on a glorious sunny day, with the infamous taxi incident after the game.

Home games are however, utter dogshit and a waste of time.

1994 I think, but you're right.  What a week that was. Getting drenched as we beat Inverness Caley 2-0 & steam coming off us all in the pub afterwards.

There was just a brilliant feeling of togetherness around the club at that time. Happy days

We've had some good home friendlies down the years although the last half decent one was Hibernian which must be getting on for 10 years ago.It was entertaining watching 2,000 Scots misbehaving

In the Phil Neal era Lancashire Cup Finals against Preston and the Man City friendly were all better occasions than most of our league games in those days.Man City would have been one of the biggest crowds that season

The best pre season friendly at The Reebok was when Celtic brought thousands with them, that was a more entertaining occasion for me than say a Premier League game against Fulham and their 250 fans

Celtic must have the record for the amount of absolutely leathered fans asleep on the grass outside of the ground before kick off. Plus Phillips got substituted in his own testimonial. Seemed odd given he played for Rangers they got Celtic along

That rust coloured one! Was one of the first games I can remember going to that and came away thinking we must be bloody mint if we can do this. No idea who played or scored though now.

That Jussi game in terms of the actual match must be the least fun testimonial I've ever watched, treated it like a proper pre season game, no old favourites no messing about, no goals.

Went to the Dunfermline game on my way to watch the Touring Cars at Knockhill . The ground was on the left as you came over the bridge iirc

Had in the back of my mind that I also caught a game at Alloa, Airdrie, Arbroath or somewhere beginning with an 'A'?? Maybe a different year, or even a different team. Definitely remember walking into a shit boozer and the place going quiet until they realised we were Bolton. Some sort of hooligan connection back in the day?

We have a game arranged against Nelson Wanderers on CNR and Atherton Town vets 

Manx Cup when we played Stoke (I think), Sunderland, Shelbourne and the Isle of Man team was a great pre-season trip. Proper weeks boozing. Pissed before we even got to Heysham for the Ferry, and stayed topped up for the whole time  Remember that the Isle of Man game was played somewhere out of Douglas and their Goalie got some serious ribbing, but took it well.

Aye, best pre season trip for me too ( missed Scotland so can't compare )

Still laugh about the opposing player going down in one game & a Bolton lad running on & giving him a pair of crutches.

BWFC gonna be that team asking for friendlies and going halves on a 3G at Ladybridge.

Went on this trip, superb. Remember driving into Dingwall for Ross County, thinking would there be any of us there, first pub in around 50 Bolton fans drinking outside all wearing Tam O Shanty Scottish wigs. One of the funniest things I have ever seen.
