£24 + £5 on the bus from Bolton is an expensive afternoon for just one member of the family. If families have strict  household budgets to stick to, they shouldn't overspend because irresponsible owners of BWFC didn't stick to a sensible budget

And in which case they don't go. But if club sets a pricing structure that it feels is what is needed - then what is it meant to do about it?

Its like walking into John Lewis looking at the TV's picking a 2 grand one out then saying "but its not in our budget and its not our fault it costs that much let us have it for £50"

As I said no one ( or virtually no one) thought he was the messiah. He was a necessary evil. Do you really think the title of thread was serious ?

Yes for some I do. As I said in my reply to Burnden it was changed to KK at a time he seemed to be taking on all-'comers and (seemingly) knocking them for six, and they were lapping it up.

If it was all just clever irony how come you got shot down in flames when his ethics or MO were questioned? Was that just being ironic too? Must just be me that doesn't get irony then.

I thought the King Ken thing was more a tongue in cheek piss take tbh.... Maybe just my interpretation.

I thought it was a response to all the know nothing despised ordinary supporters who were slagging off 'the only show in town' and the hes a cunt but our cunt idea. There was always going to be a time when his interests and BWFC didnt match tho and then calling the man who is doing more than anyone to kill the club  "king' doesnt seem ironic or clever anymore.

What the fuck are you on about? All people are saying is some will not be able to afford a one off payment at such short notice when fhey have been used to spreading it over a season ticket or direct debit. Add to that it is dearer than a season ticket would have been and kids prices, no over 75's discount (didnt see it mentioned as opposed to over 65 price last season) and people are being priced out and pushed away from the club. I dont care who set the price, Admin, FV or John fuckin Lewis it will be beyond some supporters financial capabilities thats all some folk were saying.

Yep it will. But whatever price it is it will be beyond some people. That's life. Several league one clubs have their cheapest ticket at £24. They will be pricing out some of their supporters too.

Ok. Look my real point is that Saturday is about more than just the game.

Tom said the fans are the only ones who could have done nothing about the situation. But I honestly think the turnout and support last week does make a difference and was hoping that would continue.

In terms of affordability (raised by other) this is not about folk genuinely being unable to afford it. It is the that the extra is a deal breaker when the folk who spout that might be piss cans spending afternoons in bookies pubs smoking gambling taking coke etc etc.

For my family of four it’s £72.

If It was £52 more families of four would go.

Im not really sure why it’s so difficult for some to compute this. I’m also not really sure whats wrong with saying it.

It doesn’t make you disloyal or anti bolton to suggest tickets for Saturday may be slightly too high given the occasion. Nor does it suggest your not going yourself.

Polarisation at its very best.

Nobody disputes that. But I think the issue is people have an expectancy that club has to price to allow everyone to afford it...that's the thing. Club can't do that. So that's life. Just the same for any commercial operation. They set a price based on costs and expected demand.

Yep.

Comparing prices to other clubs doesn't help either.

Plenty of those will be in more affluent areas where wages will be higher on average.

Other Lancashire mill towns may give a more realistic comparison.

Different families have different budgets though.  After Saturday I was expecting there to be at least 17,000 on the ground with Coventry selling 1,900 out, I'm hoping its around that

Given chance Coventry will sell out more than the 1900 , they are boycotting their "home" games at ST Andrews ....should have given them tickets earlier.

I'm going to watch U18 Youth Alliance football this weekend for free which will be the same standard as our U18's playing at the Unibol (and my team might have a chance of winning).

They have the right to charge what they want and you have the right not to pay it if you think its not worth the price.

Until the product is worth the price I wont be returning

Thats business (which is what BWFC has proven itself to be by the past few months)

And Ive supported BWFC since 1972 by the way so Im not a JCL

If the tickets don't go on sale until tomorrow say, surely they'll have to have a pay on the door section.

Otherwise even more pressure on the website!

Not sure police will allow....

I agree with you about Saturday. I never said otherwise. My point is that you are wrong about KA, and it's simply not true that 'hardly anyone' on WW supported him like you say. That's all.

Why, Bolton have done it before, why not now?

They might - for home fans I guess. Not sure with large away crowd expected they'd want sales to them on the day....also depends what level of policing we are paying for.

Yes and I think the admin/ FV have judged this one wrong.

They’ve misjudged the expected demand and misjudged the price what people in two minds would pay.

It was all set up for an offer to get a big bumper crowd on but they chose the safe option.

People do get prices wrong sometimes. Just like when we’ve had ticket offers on for mundane shit wank mid week games against Gillingham or whoever. Compete waste of time and they misjudged the situation.

Just like the admin have here.

First home game of the season, fresh start, new regime and a ticket offer would have the place packed. However as everybody knows once you get past the 11-13k ardent lot, it doesn’t take much to tip the balance the other way for the rest of em.

Some say fuck em. Some say it’s wasted chance to fill the ground. There’s no problem with either.

I am pretty sure that the administrator will have to run any event as profitable or as close to break even as possible. So the pricing will reflect this rather than any longer term pricing.

Say we get 12000 at £24 a ticket.

We would need nearer 16500 at £20 a ticket. Given Cov sell out either way. You are looking at an extra 4500 extra Bolton fans. So to make numbers simple (no calculator) assume 2k from Cov. And this is fixed number. You would need 45% extra Bolton fans.
