I bet that's what's happened now - people have turned up at the shop to buy tickets, with a credit/debit card, and they've realised they can't sell them. I was under the impression that the costs were taken as a percentage by the merchant Quote

I doubt it's that as I'm sure they'd simply announce it as cash only. The main thing is that they're sticking to the 'the game is on' message. The rest will sort itself out tomorrow. Quote
Okocha10 Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 (edited) Fuck me this club gets more embarrassing by the minute, taken from 9 oclock this morning till half 2 for them to say we will issue a further update on the ticket sales tomorrow morning.. Edited August 7, 2019 by Okocha10 Quote
Damocles Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Possibly it’s due to the volume of chargeback requests pushing the merchant account (card payments) balance in to a negative before a payment has been taken Quote

Means there must be more to this than simply pulling the ticket sales so they can have a think about revising prices after the STs outburst. Quote

I reckon its do with the website, not being able to hold the influx of people trying to access website all at the same time. The Coventry fans also have to access our website to get a ticket. Quote
Guest Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Marc Iles has tweeted the club update with "thoughts?" Could that man sink any lower? Quote

Plus the fact if it's cash only payments, then surely they cannot sell them online due to credit card payments being impossible to process. Quote

The same one used by most other clubs, eg. coventry is at eticketing.co.uk/ccfc, and the same Ticketmaster servers that can handle millions of people trying to buy 100000s of tickets when the major gigs go on sale. That's not going to be affected by a few thousand people trying to buy a BWFC ticket at all. Quote

Dont ever suggest on here the ST have any influence at all! Cant see it myself mind. More likely be playing behind closed doors if this carries on Quote
ErnestTurnip Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Maybe the takeover is done and they're about to announce 12 big name signings and put the prices up. Not ITK. Quote

Well it couldn't hand the amount of people who was on it this morning, people couldn't access the website, I couldn't even change my password. It's utter shite our ticketmaster website been bad for trying to get tickets for a lot of away games. Bet they have never had a football club trying to see tickets for both home & away in the amount of 3 days! Quote
Guest Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 I can only imagine that whatever the delay is now has to be takeover related...anything else would have a solution (or not) by now surely? Quote
Breightmet Boy Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Possibly, Probably, More Than Likely. This thread is full of them words yet nothing has been finalised. Quote

In the quantities that will actually be attempting it? They handle ten times as many for any number of other clubs or music gigs etc. Whether the club are in a position to pay for extra server space - or even if it is necessary - is another matter altogether. There might be a bit of queuing time when they go on sale, but let's be honest it isn't going to be a problem. Quote
