I'm just happy we don't have sets of twats congregated outside government buildings shouting about Freeedom and Libeerty. Like our shit for brains cousins across the pond.

We have had a few moon men twatting 5g masts but you can do that while social distancing so it's reet 👀

Sucksess!

Nahh I'm not having that 🤣

Sucksess !!!!

oh my goodness me 😄😄😄😄😄

Trump increased his prediction of deaths to 100k from 60k. He is also shutting down the virus task force. It really could get out of control over there. I suppose it might not be too bad and everyone else except Belarus will look daft.

And the good thing about that is we can start now rather than having to wait till it's all over

Not sure how to post this properly.

However, as suspected, the same chap who criticises the government for putting context to British death figures, also moaning that we're "the second worst in the world".

Like these insidious journalists at the daily briefings. Keep asking the same question because the answer doesn't suit their narrative.

Typical self righteous fuckwit living for likes.

Like

So is the death total made up?

Or are we the only nation reporting all deaths from CV?

Maybe our lockdown Lite hasn’t been a massive success?

I don’t know, as the info comes from all angles. Have 32,000 died from the virus? Or is it nearer 50?

from the same thread:

The HoC is a debating chamber. When you pick someone up on their tone, you’ve already lost the debate.

Im sure he’s under a lot of stress, but she hardly ripped him a new one. He just went very very Tory because he’s tired I expect.

Bloke has the worst job in the UK at the moment, i am willing to cut him some slack, he was wrong about her tone, although at the same time she was aiming to political point score.

The people we should be turning on are those who think lockdown is over, and that isn't the Government's fault. The Police seem to be doing fuck all as far as i can see, but i suspect they want to avoid confontation, which means they are in the wrong job.

The Police are driving around a lot; way more visible than hitherto

it's become a popular phrase "political point scoring" (and it works both ways)

in this case, I think it's more holding to account

the government set a target of 100k a day, and tried to score points by claiming they achieved on deadline day, but have failed to meet it since

if they don't meet their targets, that's not good

Just been asked by a friend's wife to go over and celebrate his 45th birthday tomorrow. Whilst she was clear that she wanted the families to social distance I still told her we won't be going. If others see us having a party on their drive then inevitably that just makes them want to do the same. Some people are having a truly horrible time right now and I don't want to contribute to it carrying on a second longer than it needs to. People need to stop being so fucking selfish. Just stay the fuck at home.

The Police are there to apply the laws of the land.

There are no laws preventing folk hanging around.

They'd simply be making work for themselves.

Numbers will likely be revised up in all countries, including the UK.

The evidence at the moment points to the rises in the overall deaths stats, provided by National statistical bodies,  with the "extra deaths" as being an accurate reflection of the impact of the virus.

Some counties confirmed covid deaths are way below the "extra deaths" stats - like Ecuador, they've  reported 1.6K confirmed, however the extra deaths looks like it is more than ten times as many.

Critics say that some of these extra deaths are caused by the lockdown itself, and not the virus, however they miss the point, and the stats don't back this up, in my opinion.

In countries that have broken the "extra death" stats down to local levels, the peaks in "extra deaths" map the areas with high confirmed covid deaths, and vice versa.

What everyone wants to know is how many extra people have died (who wouldn't have died very soon otherwise), and the ONS stats can provide this info, roughly.

Whilst a higher number is obviously devastating, there is the positive that it likely means loads of us have been infected.

Those antibody tests really need to be sorted. Are we any closer?

I threw beer at them....it was a message in a bottle.

It’s official lock down is very much over up here. Just been to asda. No queue. Great I thought. Nope. Utter chaos. Folk hugging long lost friends in the aisles (genuinely) no distancing at all. The odd person walking round in an industrial space age breathing apparatus Type thing but apart from that and perspex screens you honestly wouldnt know there was anything going on in the world. in the main it’s over and nobody gives a fuck. I managed two aisles and fucked it off.

Political point scoring as been used by opposition parties since day 1 of this pandemic, hence why i don't watch the news anymore, i just browse the news pages on the net.

Has it really?

I dont bother with newspapers these days but I must admit, my impression was that the Govt had been getting a relatively easy ride until lately.

The opposition, weak as they are, seem to be bending over backwards not to be antagonistic or seen as point scoring.

There's still lots to come out in the wash yet but if this had been Corbyn in charge I'm sure there'd be a lot more furore over us currently appearing to be the worst performing country in Europe.
