A mum at our kids’ school is a nurse working at the local hospital. On Monday she lost a second member of her close team to the virus. Apparently both nurses were relatively young and neither had any pre existing conditions. Took my daughter to hospital for blood tests today and the staff who are normally so upbeat looked completely beaten. Release the lockdown too quickly now and it won’t just be the elderly who are dying in the coming weeks.

As someone else pointed out earlier, I hope the people pushing for an end to the lockdown now keep their mouths well and truly shut if things go to shit again in a few weeks time.

I should have added that of the government are truly using this as a kpi in their thinking’s around lockdown I’m utterly embarrassed for them. It beggars belief if they think this is an appropriate way to measure it

They've used it a few times, along with the one showing car/bus/tube/train usage which they show every day. Both show activity way, way down on where we were pre-lockdown.

I'm not claiming it proves anything definitive, but anecdotal evidence is hardly foolproof either.

The noises from the government generally seem to be suggesting that they want more movement from us rather than less.

I just can't help thinking that folk who take the piss out of social distancing are murderers.

I live in a very small town despite which folk are taking it very seriously - possibly because there's a lot of old folk around - and there are zero cases so far. No reported infections. Zip.

Ironic as everyone has to get it by infection or vaccine sooner or later.
