That was one of the loveliest things to ever happen. Stood in my garden sobbing like a baby! Proud to work for the NHS 👏👏👏👏❤️

Just been in Asda in Hulme, fuck me, hysteria is happening on a large scale, 2 women both with large suitcases and 2 trollies each. They wenrnt the only ones.

The tills were rammed, i didnt know Tuesday was the new BIG SHOP day. These people, and there's fucking loads of them are going to make sure that we will on be on rations withing the next week. Fucking disgraceful, i was embarrassed.

I got my cereal bars and grabbed two bottles of vino and fucked of out sharpish.

Worlds gone made.

Went in to Bury Tesco for fresh stuff and some pop, as I would normally. Shelves empty if non perishable stuff and they've lowered the limit to 2 items from 5. Fresh stuff still coming in no problems.

If people shopped as they would normally then there wouldn't be an issue.

We went on lockdown here in France from noon with severe penalties for breaking the restrictions. We are currently waiting for paperwork from the British Consulate that should give us permission to travel tomorrow, not looking forward to the first roadblock tomorrow morning it was bad enough going to the vets this morning stopped twice by the police asking to see the attestation which give the reason we were out.

I’m officially WFH.

I honestly don’t want to.

Especially now the roads are empty as it was a dream to drive into Manchester earlier on.

This 'ere change of strategy; has it changed substantively?

The aim remains to keep the populations apart; older/unwell and younger/well.

The difference in strategy is explained in the paper from Imperial College. The UK's strategy up till the weekend was all about protecting vulnerable groups whilst moderately suppressing the number of people who got it to flatten the curve. The aim now is still absolutely the same, but the strategy is about heavily reducing the spread of the virus now, immediately and taking increasingly strong steps. Whereas before it was about minimising the most at risk getting it now its broader and trying to minimise generally. The research showed that the initial plan and timings would lead to hundreds of thousands dying....

So same aim, different current strategy.

"Heavily reducing"?

I'm not sure that is the case with kids still at school and many activities "advisory" for the well/young population.

We'll see if this works. Like a concertina, I guess.

I see it as being a way to get some of that herd immunity. Particularly for the future if not for now.

Many will also be sent to grandparents as people have to work.

Just a push towards Easter holidays before they have to be closed.

Reckon they will close very soon; lad said his headmaster had intimated this Friday, so will see.

Head mistress I know also said ready to close this Friday , a week before they would close anyway and stay closed a week after Easter , giving them 4 weeks off without 4 weeks worth of disruption

she said this late last week mind before the new announcement last night

apparently:

-China has closed down its last coronavirus hospital. Not enough new cases to support them.

- Doctors in India have been successful in treating Coronavirus. Combination of drugs used: Lopinavir, Retonovir, Oseltamivir along with Chlorphenamine. They are going to suggest same medicine, globally.

- Researchers of the Erasmus Medical Center claim to have found an antibody against coronavirus.

- A 103-year-old Chinese grandmother has made a full recovery from COVID-19 after being treated for 6 days in Wuhan, China.

- Good news from South Korea, where the number of new cases is declining.

- Italy is hit hard, experts say, only because they have the oldest population in Europe.

Pub then.

We need more good stories like this in the news. Might help reduce the panic a bit.

Walked past a woman earlier. As she saw me coming she lifted a scarf over her nose and mouth.

We were a good few feet apart, for a matter of a couple of seconds, in the open air.

She was accompanied by a chap at her side, and promptly removed the scarf again afterwards.

How long does it take to develop a vaccine, test it and then roll it out? A year?

I was so tempted to cough dramatically as I got to her, but smiled instead.

I bet she's already stockpiled significantly.
