3 month mortgage holiday, is that universal?

mine with nationwide and halifax were available this morning, they both emailed me this morn. Took me a couple of hours on the phone - they will ask you if coronavirus has affected your finances yet

Surely each case will be judged on it's merits.

He’s a more confident public speaker. Simple as that. If you gauge people’s competency by how the speak you’ve an issue

Since I have a stammer that is definitely not the case.

There is however a difference between being a less than confident public speaker and and just not answering the question

People who’s income is “directly” affected by coronavirus.

that’s open to interpretation. Therein lies potential issues.

Also and this may not apply to every lender I’m told if somebody is already in arrears they are exempt and not eligible for this. Which to me stinks. But like I say I don’t know if this is across the board or one lender

Well then you should know better imho

I can talk the hind legs off a donkey and in small meetings or audios and very polished. Public speaking I disintegrate sadly. I like to think my competency isn’t judged by this and know that it hasn’t held me back.

they don't have time to asses properly - in my case they asked - is coronavirus affecting your ability to pay your mortgage now

So surely you need have lost money (time off etc) to qualify for mortgage holiday

I remember doing one years back and they scrutinised my finances

Okay, then 99.9% are gonna say "Yes"

Different this time given the situation when are facing. I don’t believe any credit scores are being done and I’m told it won’t be recorded on any credit file

possibly - I got the impression that the staff were new to the process, so who knows it might become more stringent

I literally had to answer 1 question, was on hold for 50 odd minutes both times so I'd imagine they are going to be inundated with calls and will want to wrap up asap - if they have some sort of target they are allowed to accept in future or not, who knows

Just had a tenant On asking if she has to pay this month.

Yes love! Your rent is paid through credits it’s not for you to spend on booze and Fags

8 cases in the manchester area, 3 in Bolton, 3 in Wigan/Leigh. According to the postcode virus search online.

Vallance said he thinks we've probably  got up to 55K cases - 25 times more than the recorded amount.

Sunak sounds so much more competent than Johnson doesn't he. Worlds apart

Yep. Borris waffled a load of shite through the questions he was asked.

Sunak was great and clear with his answers.

Aye, all very polished until Boris deflected the question of school closures onto him - then Sunak gave an answer to a totally different question!! Leaving BJ to bluff and blither something about “constantly monitoring” the school situation.

Payment holidays are just that- the money still has to be paid, so if you're working and earning as normal you should just pay as usual.

It's not a freeby with a few months' payments knocked off.

Boris' bumbling style isn't necessarily the best, but he's more polished when doing pre written speeches.

He answered well enough for me and deferred when necessary. Given the inane and shit stirring nature of some of the questions, he does bloody well to hold his tongue.

Some of these reporters need to get with the seriousness of the situation and stop looking for an angle on some miniscule point to score a few points.
