Superb as ever @peelyfeet

Cheers

First jab today at Manchester Royal, 2nd one booked for 26th April, well organised in and out in 25 minutes

Plus new case and deaths down by about 20% week on week  the light at the end of the tunnel is shining brighter  Actually nearer 33% drop in new cases week on week from 30k to under 20k.

great stuff. good to see that they may be reducing transmission too. roll on 24 hour vaccine centers

This vaccine roll out has been superb, it really has. I was very skeptical that we'd do it, as I was concerned we'd balls it up. Fair play to the Government on this

Absolutely this. I feared it would be another Dido Hardingesque caper but it has been bloody superb.

NHS and Army have done a fantastic job and credit to Nadhim Zahawi for overseeing it and ensuring it all.

The moment the Army guy turned up at the briefing you got the feeling lessons had been learnt from earlier instances. Think he has been the only attendee at the briefings were no journalist asked him questions.

Hope they're using the English one.

I have a feeling that peely's second option is the most likely. A few of the usuals moaning yesterday, but if we've learned one thing recently, is the opportunity for new variants.

Low cases, means fewer variants.

They're tightening borders, so it would seem counterintuitive to then adopt a system that allows a higher rate of cases, albeit in less susceptible age groups.

Once we come out, there'll be little will to go back, even a bit, so I don't see significant changes for a while.

Nah, it should be labelled; made in England.

Piss off the SNP.

Who would have thought that during our first pandemic for what over a 100 years? We would learn from Mistakes and improve. Never saw that coming myself

Really ? I would have thought it was obvious. As discussed previously at the end of all this we need to go back and see what lessons we can learn.

Spoken to a couple of hotel owners today who use booking.com

Theyve been advised to get ready for May opening.

Also spoke to a guy who is an RBM at Boots and theyre expecting another lockdown of sorts in July.

Told him hes been drinking too much of their bubble bath.

I agree. Sadly some made their mind up a week in. Odd behaviour  really but not unexpected if you about where it’s coming from

The vaccination roll out is why we’re the best country on earth, bar none.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Proud to be part of the NHS 👍

Slightly pedantic but I would argue the fact that as a country we have developed specifically a vaccine that can be used in less developed countries and it has been done without a thought of maximising profits is the thing that makes me proudest

In 2018, 21.3% of the population of England and Wales was under 18.

Using a rough guide of 20% of the whole of the UK population being ineligible for the vaccine, we will need to jab around 53m folk.

Already done around 11m, from a slow start of just the Pfizer vaccine.

I'm plumping for everyone to be done at least once by mid- late August.

Yes but what about the delays at the ports, majority which seem to be on the opposite side of the channel and the fact some people are proud to be British. These are all overshadowing the vaccination effort in the eyes of spider.

in reality we should be immensely proud of the vaccination development and roll out in isolation. Doesn’t excuse all the errors made but it’s been a phenomenal success so far

Those Brexit issues are threatening my livelihood so forgive me for putting the welfare of my family at the top of my list.

The vaccine and it’s speed of roll out are a separate thing entirely and I see no need to try and combine them for some forum points.

Things can be good and shit at the same time. We’re all BWFC fans for a start.

If people have not seen this programme I recommend it 100%. My missus is very cautious about vaccines and after this said ' I think I would have it.'
