You know how the stock market has slumped. Would this not be an ideal time to buy - seen as how things are likely to return to the mean once the outbreak comes to an end? I know dick all about these things.

In other news - I offered to help with CV testing and might get drafted in next week depending on how numbers are looking. 3 day turnaround for results is the latest I've heard - but still not straight from the horses mouth.

So what would that involve? Testing in a car park?

I don't know yet. Presumably they'll be testing at the hospital but out in the community too. Maybe they'll have some of the 'drive through' testing centres too.

They'll have some strategy for when we move into the next phase.

The A&E the missus works at now has a drive through testing jobby outside. Some bloke randomly turned up on foot yesterday, seems he got there by bus...

I was thinking about that the other day. As another one who knows fuck all about such things. Might have a crash course this weekend 🤔

If you are in for the long term, buy when it is lower.

It might/not go lower still.

Are you on the side of it’s just a bad cold or more serious I can’t tell?

Stock market has had something of a recovery since the quick plunge.

Other than that, buy shares in hand gel manufacturers.

Just seen that one brand sold by superdrug normally retails for £3 odd.

Same brand and size, now on t'internet for £149, and £129.

Some mark up!

I’m no expert. Our resident expert all matters, well on all matters simply , says it’s a cold so it’s a cold

not sure what all the panic is about.

Do you want this pallet of hand santizer, 100 bog rolls, and six gallons of water sending back then?

Which one is F5?

Coal Tar Soap still on the shelves at less than a pound.

Hand sanitizer is for queers, girls and southerners.

I’m more of a swarfega chap myself.

No hand shakes before tomorrow’s game 🤦‍♂️

Burnley academy cancelled all tournaments involving international teams until July. Will review 8 weeks beforehand.

Many parents booked flights etc, and now have to pay for the kids of they want to go away. If they do, can't train for 14 days after return, and been tested.

Has it defo come from bats and not snakes then?

Our office is on Pancras Square, just opposite Google’s European HQ. Loads of folk been off this week with a cold, I’ve got a head cold at the moment. Travel into St Pancras everyday - apparently the top place for transmissions if it’s going to really take hold in London.

Here is the thing, we have some preparation - as I said over a week ago no travel to our offices in locations such as China or Italy, we have to take our laptops home every night in case of closure.

There will be illness - in a way I’ll be bloody surprised if I don’t catch it, given my commute, where I work and how much my clients travel or are internationally based.

You still have to go to work, if I have to stay home, I’ll work from there and do Zoom meetings. Not much else you can do.

Hope I get you in the sweepstake

What this virus shows is that the world's political machinery is too slow, too reactive and not proactive enough to cope with these sorts of challenges. You see investment from the British today into research into the virus - months after its first discovery and in the middle of an outbreak. You see the cuts the USA have made to their CDC and public health organisations. Similar cuts in the UK to PH departments. The Chinese tried to bury the virus and hide it from the international community. Iran and Italy were negligent in allowing the virus to take a foothold there before even government knew it was happening.

The virus was largely ignored by most Western countries politically, until the past few weeks but a massive and coordinated international effort MIGHT have stopped in it China for a while and that might have given enough breathing space to sort things out.

The response of the UK government once the virus started to spread here has been quite good and probably one of the most measured and sensible around. But as a world we're simply not working together or committed properly on an individual and then collective scale to sort these sorts of massive global challenges out. Same with climate change. We're reactive and not pro-active and most of that is down to a lack of real international joined up approaches and real genuine concerted efforts.

I hope the lesson from this is that the challenges we face are global in nature - not isolated to a country or a region and that we need to start tackling issues globally in a much more sensible and grown up way.

I just seen it on the news. Very skittish these lot!

In fairness, I think it's sinking in just how much a prolonged/intense infection period could affect business.

Surely not?

The Don said it wouldn’t happen on his watch, his beautiful watch, his brilliant watch.

He knows everything there is to know about <insert subject here>.

Actually, have you ever seen Trump and Fan5 in the same room? Hmmmmm

A Croatian lady from within the EU's inner sanctum has had to self isolate, and various meetings etc have been postponed.

Can see this delaying trade deal negotiations, especially if one of them actually gets the virus.

I thought all that Brexit nonsense was finished with now?

Surely our crack team of seasoned, brass-necked negotiators have beaten the tank-reversing, shit-eating, bone-idle European cowards to a pulp by now?

Tsk.
