Lefties complained about the start of lockdown and want a plan for when it finishes.

Alt Right do not think we need any lockdown and it all can be cured with a shot of dettol.

Main points though..

Limits could be put on class sizes - so where do all the other kids go to, or get taught by?

A few year groups or pupils could take turns between studying at school and at home - still risking contamination as it's impossible to deep clean a school that quickly

Some children could work one week and others the next - "hey boss, i can work this week, but not next".. "What do you mean i won't get paid"..

Some pupils could work in the morning, others in the afternoons (see above) although more practical..

Classrooms could be redesigned to ensure social distancing (Haha, go on, how do you fit social distancing into schools that are already crammed as funding cuts mean that they have to work at capacity)

Pupils could take their breaks at different times, still kids wondering round and mixing...

I know i'm being very negative about it, but why are schools being touted, but football has to be behind closed doors rather than socially distanced..

Enjoying the widening definition of 'lefties' which now includes every national newspaper, all manner of business owners, Tory donors and David Davis. Crazy times.

Anyway, if I can do my bit for the national effort, I think Cummings presence at any meetings are irrelevant if your starting position is that he is Boris's puppet master. I generally agree with the things the government are laying out for moving forward and I can't be arsed with the pantomime as to whether we hit an arbitrary number of tests or not this week.

Oh, and "The Science" is still not a thing.

Teacher I was speaking to said year 5, 10 and 12 to return this academic year, as they have SATS, GCSE and A levels next year.

Then work out what to do with the rest come September

Pretty much at a push.. Be end of June for a few weeks just to break that cycle and get some sort of routine..

Otherwise it will have been 6 months with no school.

Because they seem to be banging the drum of 'show us your exit strategy'.

That has been mostly lead by business and journos. The opposition have been fairly restrained but it is ultimately their job to counter the government.

Very restrained.. writing a letter to the PM when he's not currently working..

There is no exit strategy at the moment. It's that straight forward, frustrating as it is

No. Not really pal. We're pretty much following the same path of every western country whether lleft or right leaning.

Is it the wrong move? Who the fuck knows. Is it the current government's fault or the fact that everyone seems to be following others and the WHO? Who the fuck knows.

Is now the time to be arguing over the minutiae of it all? No.

He says, whilst arguing over the minutiae of it all.

It’s a letter, not a letter bomb!

The PM is back today so the letter will be there for him which seems good timing to me.

It would be a poor show if the opposition had not asked these questions.

I'm intrigued.

You complain that Cummings should not be at the SAGE meetings, and now you are saying they are not really Scientists ?

How Bizarre.

We were discussing this very thing last night.

Not sure exactly how it could be achieved.

Seems like Boris's bout of flu has made him reconsider his priorities and he's putting people before the economy

I agree with everything he's said just now, even though I'd rather get back to normal sooner rather than later

I know of one school in Bolton who have been having just one pupil in and have been trying to disinfect everything they play with and touch, but I know of others where they've been getting between 5-10 and they've not had the guidance or kit to know how/what to do.

Has anyone heard anything about Bolton School being back in this week with some kids doing mon/wed/fri and some doing tue/thu ? Don't know if it's true or not but that's come second hand from someone taking their kids in this morning, could be Chinese whispers at play though.

I'd assume chinese whispers..

The rules were quite clear, schools are to close aside from key workers kids, it doesn't matter if its a private school or not.

Based on that (very good) speech, we aren't doing very much as a nation until June at the earliest I think.

He's right, we start pissing about now and this lasts all summer.

It's shit, and I'm complaining as much as anyone, but it's worth a few more weeks of aggro.

It's working - the Nightingale situation proves it.
