leigh white Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 I saw a queue outside the foodbank in Leigh today, some of the wimmin were bigger than rhino's. Quote
gonzo Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 (edited) So you’re both denying the rise in cases is predominantly in Muslim areas? I reckon Blackpool has seen more visitors than anywhere in the country Over the past few month. Riots and marches all over country, folk drinking in pubs the last month. Yes those particular areas are most affected. Why would you think this is so? Edited July 31, 2020 by gonzo Quote

gonzo Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 85% of covid patients in Blackburn are of Asian descent. Quote

Not at all, I'd just like to see something to back it up - and even then I wonder why it matters? Where I live there are hardly any minorities, but everywhere is rammed with people not wearing masks. Folk round here basically stopped paying attention to any Government Guidance on VE DAY, and it's been a free-for-all ever since. Edited July 31, 2020 by Cheese Quote

I don't know, I live in Bolton in an area with almost no Muslims and am locked down. I work in Blackburn with Muslims and non-Muslims and the only people I know through work who have had Covid are white non-Muslims. Both of the above are 100% true but if it is the fact that the infection rate is increasing because of the way a certain section of the population are behaving then I would have no hesitation in being open about it and telling them. One of my customers sent me a picture this morning of several pans of curry, rice and various other foods being prepared for an Eid celebration tonight at his house. He’s a Muslim. He doesn’t give a fuck. He openly admits that the same thing will be happening across the country. he even booked 4 days off work for it and has said the lockdown will not change his plans I have nothing against him or any other Muslims since I count him as a mate. Its a problem amongst the Muslim community. And I don’t give a fuck what anyone says. I know it’s true. Quote
gonzo Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 Fairy muff. My biggest beef is with folk crowing on social media, well what about the beaches or what about the shops and pubs etc. If the government could track rises to those areas they’d be restricting those areas and that would be fair enough. However, to me, it’s obvious why those areas and seen a rise and obvious why the government are targeting those particular areas. The asian community need to shape up and sort it out or this is just going to carry on forever. I’d be saying exactly the same if it was Lytham St Anne’s being locked down due to a rise being tracked to middle class white whoppers sat on the green drinking pimms. Theres a lot of different areas of society that we could be seeing levels get higher, this time it’s asian areas. They need to do as their told. Just like everyone else will have to when the time comes. Quote
ErnestTurnip Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 I agree with you both, I've not thrown a racist card in or anything like that and maybe I came across like a cunt with the initial comment about the photo. I'd like more openness and honesty with it, if we have stats to say the infection rate is biggest in the Muslim community in Deane then people in charge should just say so. It's not about finger pointing it gives those folk the chance to alter their behaviour. If the folk facing where the Rocket was and on johnny fold near me are upping the figures then for fucks sake let's get em told, highlighting a certain section of society are behaving badly isn't always an ism for folk to protest about. leigh white Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 This is not a lockdown in the North. When the pubs and takeaways are closed, that is a lockdown. Quote

Agree with all of that. Just find something a bit iffy about people sharing photos of Muslims standing outside a Mosque, when there are photos from this morning of shit loads of 'non-Muslims' congregating on beaches. What's the difference? They're all stupid cunts. Edited July 31, 2020 by Cheese Quote

I've no worries saying a problem exists with people living a certain way if we have data to back that up but that image is not showing that and the person posting it up wasn't arsed about accuracy they just wanted to say something else. They're not all properly distanced though. Some are, others aren't. You're right though, in that its not all down to Muslims. Feckwits packed on beaches etc no different. Quote
Spider Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 Of course this isn’t all down to the asian or Muslim communities. But we don’t need to get Colombo involved to know that those communities aren’t exactly helping. Every community has its dickheads. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 I would add that there is a legitimate question that gonzo poses about areas with large muslim populations being locked down. Presumably its not so much about queueing down a street or packing on a beach but more about packing several generations into one house and mixing of households. Quote

It's correct, but not as extreme as it looks at first glance. 97 out of 114 people who tested positive for Covid in the last 2 weeks in Blackburn are South Asian. I can't find anything that says they're "patients". They could just be at home with the sniffles, but the fact they're getting tested shows they're following guidelines. It doesn't really suggest a massive cultural problem as there are about 30,000 Asians in Blackburn. Edited July 31, 2020 by Cheese Quote

But makes for smashing headline however the list of places with high levels that are now under heavier restrictions, plus the type of restrictions, speaks for itself. Quote
