Can someone explain to me a couple of things

If you get paid more than £2500 p/m do you just get capped at £2500?

Also if you get paid an annual salary and not for the hours you work do you get 80% of your annual salary per month capped at £2500?

If you get paid more than £3125 a month, you're capped at £2500

Those on £2500 a month will get £2000

If you're on £3125 a month, take home pay is approx £2420
Furloughed at 80% means £2500 a month, which is £1995 take home.

Furlough take home is 82.5% of normal take home.

£425 a month worse off for not working, but no commuting, no unsociable hours, less outgoings (social etc) etc etc.

Probably little in it.

So in theory could a workplace ask you to be only paid 80% by them not the government and that way save 20% or do they have to do it via the government?

You didn’t honestly think you were getting away without paying tax and ni surely mate?

I honestly thought it was take home pay to a max of £2.5k.

so that’s the butler out of a job and me decanting my own fucking brandy then is it?

I can't believe anyone was batshit crazy enough to be paying you over £35k a year anyway.

Looks that way. Can you not furlough the butler?

I’ll just send him back to the zoo.

His roller skates need fixing anyway so maybe it’s serendipity that this is happening.

Its very tough

But theres 2 options

Furlough and dont work

Dont furlough

Its causing us issues, as we need to furlough, but theres stuff needs doing

Like you, we need to have a business when we return

I just find it morally wrong to take the govts generous deal, then look for ways to abuse it

£640 per month will just about cover the business overheads (they've been reduced to the minimum). So I'd be left with zero. Its such a generous deal, no seriously, it really is.

Its all riding on this £10K grant that SME's are meant to receive. That will be the game changer for a small business like us.

What's £640 a month?

In kind. Spider will be too pissed up to perform his husbandly duties.

I should be ok to give my missus the occasional punch up the whiskers during this madness, but I won’t be doing it sober.
