Personally prefer to hear that from comments made by players who have played under him and under several other managers .

Im sure there will be a quote somewhere from nicky adams

Colls played Barrow this season, our manager had just got wed so Evatt brought him a bottle of champers. Class act. However he put out a weakened team and should have come unstuck but for a referee sending off our striker for celebrating a goal that put us 2-1 up after not sending off a defender for hauling him down. Ref assessor said it was a red. Our fanbase wouldn't take that well.

Barrow is a funny club, all the players are from around here and they train near Accy. I don't know much about the conference but players were on good money.

Which players is wheater speaking to

We havent got any fucking players  :)

Spearing, Lonergan, Vela, Beevers and Le Fondre are the ones I've seen.

Once you get past the oi-oi bits there's some interesting stuff.

Ahhh, I thought you meant relevant players. :)

I was typing it out and wondering how long it would take! I'm impressed.

Evatt now 4/1 with Skybet.

Enjoyed watching this about Evatt.

I have watched Barrow a couple of times this season as a mate lives up in Barrow ground very open and old fashioned 1 stand rest is standing 15 quid to watch the match. They play decent football uses the full backs alot Quigley up front is a handful tall quick will do well in league 2 .

Rooney's brother plays for them excellent footballer runs the show from midfield scores goals very vocal.

Couple of good centre half as well . Barrow lads think manager will leave if a good offer comes alongs.

I've watched Barrow for 180 minutes and worked with Lewis who is quoted in that vid, never thought they were Barcelonaesque,  they have a lot of possession but vunerable on the break and beat Colls with a freekick and a pen.

Someone’s had a fiver on him then

He had a ridiculous budget at bury

And plymouth offered one of last summers bwfc trialists more than we did...whether we could have gone higher, i dont know

He still produced the goods though. Additionally, on the video, he explains how he got rid of high earners at Bury, and greatly reduced the wage bill.

Must have something about him.

Think I’d prefer Nolan to Lowe, if we’re going down the scouser route.

My ITK mate at Swindon says he spoke to Richie Wellens on Friday who advised us not waste any money by betting on him.

Couple of Shrewsbury fans at work seem to think Ricketts would walk to Bolton on his hands for the job.

They're just supporters rather though. Opinions innit.

@Mr Grey will boycott if we appoint a scouser.

Interesting stuff that.  Would massively need the players to buy into it.  Which goes back to him being allowed to pick his own players and not necessarily have to use players given to him by a director of football.  Sounds like he knows how to set up a team and has a plan, for me that's key.  I feel like we havent had a manager who's got a clue since Allardyce.  Does anyone know if his budget at Barrow is a major reason for finishing top?  If he's paying the highest wages it does put his achievement in perspective, if not he's obviously a good manager.

His budget will not be anywhere near the top

He is not paying high wages - 40 seconds in the video clip refers to him having a bottom 6 budget

I found it an interesting watch - like the fact he has played at all levels of English Football.

Might put £10 on him - that should make him odds on favourite by tonight

Does anyone know anything about this Tobias Phoenix? If we're taking this moneyball route then the manager will have to be a good coach, but whose to say this Phoenix chap will locate the right players?

Problem with Evatt is the compensation. Apparently AFC Fylde tried to poach him last year but the compo was £100k.

He might ask Barrow to be sympathetic to him if we're offering him a double your money deal. I can't see his wages being all that up there?

Now this is just complete speculation on my part, but he may have a contract clause that would involve a reduced compensation figure if approached by a Football League club.

He’s also less time to go on his contract. Also if FV are serious about rebuilding this club 100k to get the correct person at the helm (not saying he is btw) should be something they are willing to put in. It’s not a lot of money in reality compared to the costs of the club

The way I see it Phoenix will find a pool of players (say 12) then talk with head coach in the hope to sign 3 of them.I maybe wrong but that's my take

Maybe, I've never heard of owt like that before.

Of all the candidates, he's probably the one that I'd get most excited about.

Fairly common I think. Just ensures he would only be lost higher up the food chain rather than to a rival (as Fylde would be in this case).
