I don't do dried freeze shite anymore, it taste rank once you've upped your game. I generally buy a French 5 or Italian 4 filter blend. ...and your house smells lovely, unfortunately over lockdown ive drank to much of the stuff, filter coffee became the new beer. I've got one, and same as you blasting the French 5 back in the morning, run a friend over to Wrightington Hospital today and killed time waiting supping Americano with ginger nuts. Is it close to KO time yet ?
December 19, 20205 yr Nespresso Vertuo is really good if you like bug coffees and you don’t want to fick about topping up an espresso with hot water from the kettle Works out more expensive than bean to cup but you can easily switch between 1 coffee and another with pod. My Mrs goes strong, I’m on a milder blend, sometimes Decaf etc - Much harder work to switch with B2C
December 19, 20205 yr Save yourself a fortune and just buy a cafetière. You can choose from loads of different fresh ground coffees (keep them in the fridge) and you only make what you need. These capsule machines are shite and gimmicky. Plus they lock you in to their coffees. As Grey says, 4/5 strength Ethiopian blends are the dogs.
December 19, 20205 yr Always had Nespresso machines, just convenient I've got a Mokka pot which is okay too for on the stove top Aeropress is meant to be great option and they are cheap When the kitchens done next year I'm going to invest in a proper coffee machine, something like a Sage 👍
December 19, 20205 yr I have a mokka pot paired with an induction milk frother. Made by severin. Beautiful coffee.
December 19, 20205 yr I have a bialetti type thing for on the hob - cheap, easy to use, easy to clean.
December 19, 20205 yr Tea only for me the amount folk spend on coffee is staggering, new Starbucks opened in Radcliffe yesterday causing massive traffic delays but back to the topic I bought the Mrs one for xmas last year it’s in the loft

Leave it to simmer? Do you add milk? Can you use it if you just want one cup? Are they easy to clean?
December 19, 20205 yr 5 minutes ago, Mr Grey said: That's the problem, they all want one or like the idea of one, use it once then can't be arsed with the up keep of the machine. I wonder how many UK households have an unused coffee machine gathering dust. Mine is filter coffee, wash the pot and filter, simple... putting water in is like filling a kettle up. Just want a brew upkeep sack that boil the kettle 5 minutes ago, Rudy said: The Mrs or the machine? @Mr Grey Talk me through it, boil the kettle, pour the water in with the beans? Leave it to simmer? Lidl have some decent ground coffees. The 5 strength are a bit much for me. Anyway, best drinks machine purchase this year? A sodastream, I shit you not. We were going through four litre bottles of fizzy water every 5 days or so. This is cheaper, environmentally friendly and shows how much we get ripped off for carbonated mineral water as it tastes tge same as from the bloody tap.

Saw the soda stream the other day, never realised they cost around £120. Mind you never had the original one so don’t know if the price was relatively the same The other half drinks loads of fizzy water so may have to look at getting one instead of building up loads of plastic bottles. When they go in the recycling bin I cover them up with my empties to avoid any embarrassment with the neighbours

When they go in the recycling bin I cover them up with my empties to avoid any embarrassment with the neighbours Thats why we looked into it, we'd tried to recycle them in other ways - seed planters etc but it was just daft. We got ours in a offer, cost £70. Even tried the orange syrup for the kids the other day, thinking about the old ones and how crap they were I wasn't holding out much hope but tasted like Fanta (and bare in mind this is using crap tasting southern water) so an added bonus. So got the Tonic mix as well and its great, sure sorted for GnTs over Xmas. *Disclaimer; NiC is in no way an affiliate of, employed by or a beneficary of Sodastream TM or any outlets pertaining to the sale of Sodastream TM equipment in the UK or any overseas territories.
December 19, 20205 yr Got a Dolce Gusto and some refillable pods, making a brew is a breeze and as Mr Grey says much better than jar shite. Currently drinking this tasty brew. https://www.darkartscoffee.co.uk/collections/coffee/products/lost-highway-seasonal-espresso-mexico
December 19, 20205 yr I have a Sage espresso machine which makes great coffee and can texture the milk, but previously had a small delongi espresso machine which also had a steam wand but cost a fraction of the price and still made a decent cappuccino. The Delongi could take capsules but also fresh coffee. But if you just want black the a cafetiere is the cheaper way to go. I would recommend to anyone though to get a grinder so you can grind fresh beans, coffee is much better stored as whe beans and ground fresh. Loads of great coffee roasters in the UK who do mail order either whole beans or ground. Highly recommend grey seal and Darkwoods coffee.

When they go in the recycling bin I cover them up with my empties to avoid any embarrassment with the neighbours I have one of these for exactly this reason, it is brilliant and as you fizz what you want straight away you don't end up throwing any flat stuff away if you don't fancy finishing a bottle. You also control the amount of gas you put in so can get stuff that makes your eyes water it is that fizzy. The syrups are alright as well if you like pop, simple delivery on the gas, but reduction in plastic waste is the main benefit
December 19, 20205 yr Aye, carte noire What an absolute toff Anyway, machines We have a lavazza, pods are about 20 p each If I got another, it'd be bean to cup, I think But be miles cheaper to get a grinder and cafetiere Taylors, I think, do coffee bags They're pretty good
December 19, 20205 yr Just try the Nescafé black roast. A beltingly strong instant. For real coffee, I agree, cafetière and choice of any pre-ground beans.
December 19, 20205 yr I’ve got fucking loads, Tassimo, Nepresso, filter. Still searching for a good one.
