Carlisle (A)

I’m sure I saw a thread for the Boxing Day game already? Must be going mad.

Anyway, Evatt has confirmed that Tutte and Kioso are back, thank god. In my opinion we should be able to put out our current strongest 11.

I’d go with the usual back 3, Kioso back in at right wing back, move Jones back to the left, Tutte and Thomasson in centre mid and Sarcevic further forward behind Doyle and Delfounso.

Saying that, with how inconsistent we are we could play our best team and lose 4-0. If we can start quickly and get an early goal then a comfortable 2-0 win is my prediction - another kick start to the season!

The sending off was very harsh, second one was never a yellow. Shame as Kioso seemed to be a good part of the comeback (from the highlights).

I really hope we set up differently from the start against morecambe. Surely now it is obvious three at the back is killing us.

Kioso man of the match for me.

its not often ud say that about a player who’s been sent off.

The second was a booking. The first one was what used to be known as a tackle.

Wind, had biggest Influence.

Backed us at HT to draw/win, could/should have nicked it.

There are no good teams in this league (inc us).

We just need something better on bench.

Isgrove is pointless, Greenidge did ok - like his charging runs.

This season is shit and cant wait for next and when this covid bollocks is done.

Carlisle had more than 2k on.

Did I say isgrove is pointless.

Thomasson will be gone after this season.

Isgrove is pointless

Noticed a few matches recently including ours yesterday where it looked way more than 2k

What a strange league and what a frustrating team we are.

we were great for about 5 minutes, but the rest was disjointed, lethargic and sloppy.

why did we wait so long second half to get any shots in ?

we need to get Doyle in the box, rather than him being so wide or deep.

we need to stop giving crap goals away.

but to come from 3-0 down at any level.......

Exactly the same as Salford had last season.

Funny how we can see things so differently. While he was very poor last week, I thought Isgrove looked good yesterday! Took on and beat his man on more than one occasion, some nice touches taking him into space and a great ball into the box for the equaliser.

Thank fuck for that, I thought I was the only one who thought Isgrove made a positive impact!

Me too. The thing in this league, if any of the players were consistently at the top of their game they just wouldn’t be here. Some supporters need to have a bit of a reality check and accept that the days of world class players are a thing of the past.

Spot on that. As hard as it is we have to get used to these inconsistencies. It’s just so frustrating when the likes of Santos and Fonz, who can be excellent in this league, don’t perform like we know they can.

1st half yesterday Santos was worse than his early season games but he recovered second half. Baptiste had been playing well until the Tranmere and was shocking yesterday. If we can get some consistency we will win most games

Totally agree. If used correctly Isgrove could be a really key player but we would need to scrap the wing backs.

I watched it twice and it looked like nothing more than a shoulder charge, if the first booking was even harsher then he has been very unlucky.

Second was a professional foul breaking up an attack fair enough yellow but the first one was a great tackle not even a free kick nemind a booking.

He leant on him, shoulder to shoulder. We aren't playing netball now, are we ?

Think we will improve with some new signings in January. We have some decent players at this level but some shite as well. I don't think our inconsistency will change though, it seems to be what this league is all about, some quality but poor concentration and decision making. But I still believe we can get promoted by putting a run together at the right time.

Nah. He is behind the guy and fouls him. Not a single player objects to the free-kick. Evatt described it as a tactical foul.

Made no attempt to play the ball, it was a foul.

Wasn’t Dr Feelgood talking about the first yellow? It certainly didn’t look a foul on my tellybox.

there was one in between that was probably "most a foul" that got no booking

No. Feelgood was talking about the second.

Foul, my right testicle. This is what comes from allowing effete prima-donnas who've never played the game set the rules. They'll be letting wimmin get involved next.

Its been obvious since about half an hour into the FGR game that the current squad cant play 3 at the back, and I don't include pre-season and cup as I didn't see those games, so IE has had even longer to comd up with a system that suits his personnel.

There's no way he's changing it now, he will live or die by it.

Like someone said earlier, the ref was determined to send a Bolton player off. He badly wanted Carlisle to win that game.

I'd respectfully disagree, the crowd looked sparse.  Normally that terrace opposite the camera is well populated a bit like the Burnden Paddock used to be when only about 5k on, their terrace looked very thinly populated and also behind the goal.  Maybe 1000 down side, 500 behind goal and 500 in stand nearest camera, but nowhere near their usual 4,000 or so of previous seasons.
