June 4, 20251 yr Brilliant. Now this https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DmEbongS2TyY&ved=2ahUKEwj8i9juodeNAxVNRkEAHZV_ATcQo7QBegQIBxAF&usg=AOvVaw2O1-SqskK_V8s0M7NGhQPK
June 23, 20251 yr Meanwhile attacks on Kyiv seem to have increased of late. Let’s hope Iran-Russia talks this week result in the US (Trump) becoming a little more sceptical of his best mate in the Kremlin, and at long last put more (some?) pressure on the Russians. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0k7vll16l3o Edited June 23, 20251 yr by Bertie

June 23, 20251 yr They hit an emergency medical station in my girlfriend's hometown on Sunday. No fatalities thankfully, just put 7 ambulances out of commission
July 24, 20251 yr https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c9w19vxjr44o It appears that Ukraine's anti corruption agencies set up to facilitate entry to the EU and NATO have been too effective and Mr.Z has now passed a bill bringing them into state control (on the eve of the summer recess hoping any resistance will fizzle away). Mr Z's puppet masters are after their cut of EU/NATO money and need these agencies brought under control. I posted previously about how corruption is rife in pre-Soviet states and how the Oligarchs will be after their slices of the pie... but I hadn't thought about the protests which are now occurring on the streets by the younger generations... they are the ones dying on the battlefields fighting for a pro-EU future not the historical one of state corruption Edited July 24, 20251 yr by Dimron
July 29, 20251 yr Meanwhile, other reporters views suggest that he did this because he couldn't rely/trust those bodies to be corruption free themselves. In response to protests, he made some changes. What the reality is, neither you nor I know, but you keep sticking to a one sided position on it.
July 29, 20251 yr I hope Trump keeps his word now and does reduce the waiting time for Putin to comply with a peace deal

August 9, 20251 yr So, looks like the Trump-Putin summit is a go next week, and looks like a deal proposal will include Ukraine having to cede Donbas territories in exchange for peace. No surprise there then. Mixed feelings. On one hand peace is long overdue, and something has to give for that to happen. Better than continued death and destruction? On the other hand seems wrong on every level to reward the aggressor. It’d be like us giving up Cornwall/Devon or Norfolk/Suffolk depending where an invasion has come from (or the Aussies giving up Queensland). At end of day the Ukrainians should decide…..and Europe needs to back them 100%. Need to ignore what Trumpy says/does as at end of day he’s being influenced by whatever hold Putin has on him, and/or whatever financial deal (for himself) he thinks is more important.

If this happens then it's a win and very well played by Trump tbf. Russia were never going to reverse their tanks and just give up without going down swinging with hydrogen bombs. It's shit. But not as shit as it could've been.

You're obsessed mate. Not sure why you've editted Gonzo's post to make him sound like a spaz though. Edited August 12, 20251 yr by Cheese

No surprise there then. I'm assuming that Trump will sit there and basically suck Putin off, Putin will say he wants to keep what he's taken thus far, plus also get back any territory that Ukraine has taken from Russia, some sort of deal for rare earth minerals and then he'll stop fighting. Ukraine won't want to concede any land, which will allow Trump to say that Zelenskyy is blocking the peace deal, and it's all his fault, again.

Trump hates Zelensky for refusing to get involved in his Hunter Biden conspiracy. Plus he has a bromance of Putin and wants to keep him onside and away from China. He will fail on that last one as Putin is playing him.
August 12, 20251 yr Nowt wrong with the US and Russia getting together as super-powers. Zelensky is pissed off because he knows if he's not invited to the table he'll be on the menu. Maybe Trump-Putin will do a deal, Ukraine will refuse and the eastern-state biased EU with its Estonian Foreign Secretary will back Ukraine... Trump will then be able to walk away and trade with Russia again leaving the EU to pick up the bills. The US will suspend its contributions to NATO as it doesn't want to contribute to paying for the supplies it has sold to NATO. The UK will be sucked into what will then become a Russia-EU war. Best result in my view would be to establish a demilitarised zone in eastern Ukraine whilst overdue democratic elections are held in Ukraine (Putin will obviously attempt to rig these but its a start).
