Eight people, including six Asian women, were killed in shootings at three different businesses in Atlanta and Acworth, Georgia, on Tuesday, according to local police. A male suspect was arrested and charged with several counts of murder on Wednesday, police said. At a press conference in Atlanta on Wednesday, authorities identified the four victims killed in Cherokee County.

People vote for real life policies and things that they think will make their country and lives better.

 

It's the historic shift away from a post WW2 western global consensus in which some parts of traditional industries are left behind and the world favours higher educated globalists.

This is the kickback, as Bexit was.

Calling people thick or daft isn't the way but we must understand both in Europe and the US why certain groups have been left behind in the narrative and how to include them but not shift the window to give credence to regressive views.

Spot on.  As much as I dislike Trump I think the blame for his success doesn’t lie with those who voted for him, rather the inability of the Democrats to put forward a better alternative (which let’s face it shouldn’t have been difficult).  Same goes across many European countries atm where we seen populist/nationalist parties spouting hate and blame having election successes.  Need to understand why people legitimately vote for such causes and then ensure the alternative of tolerance and compassion is better.

I go and visit my friends in America all the time and what people over here don’t realise is that 95% of Americans don’t have a passport. They’re not bothered about the rest of the world. If someone like Trump says he’s going to reduce energy prices and create jobs, even the male African Americans will vote for him.
