There's some grifters looking very silly that took Farage at his word.

What a load of shite. Obviously you lot are listening to the wokists which surprises me not one jot.

Suggest that you investigate what a PEP is and comment further then.

Furthermore, this activity which you appear to be in favour of which has far reaching consequences for the notion of free speech is more widespread than you think

In your zeal to wreak revenge on one of the main architects of Brexit, be very wary of what you wish for. One day they may be coming for you.

I am glad that you've reached the correct conclusion as to what she really is. That is my opinion of her too.

I am still not sure how Farage is a PEP as he is not in public office, he sort of meets some of the criteria but unless he is standing for public office less so. When he was an MEP clearly would have been. Down to how you interpret the rules.

Farage has said the closing of his Coutts business account is especially damaging as he pays most of his income through that. Not surprising as it will tax efficient to do so and lots of others do the same.

Where he seems to have messed up is neglecting his personal account so failing to meet the account requirements. Same for everyone if a savings account needs £xxx balance in and you drop below the balance the account will close. As his balance has been below the required balance for a sustained period, as he stated, they have closed the account.

Coutts rules state only personal account holders can have a business account so they served him notice .

It is ironic that people are suggested he should use GDPR legislation to sue the bank for disclosing his details ( do not think they have) but he can use the EU regs if they are so good.

It is even more ironic that we have been told that Brexit is the land of opportunity for the country including the banking sector , but he is being punished by the banking sector for Brexit. Massive contradiction.

Apparently you’re wrong

if Bolty says that Coutts bank are wokies and remainers, then that’s what they are.

because as we all know, banks are famous for their sensitivities to the political persuasions of their customer base.

They’ve simply put him on ignore because he’s a bit of a peasant by their standards.

He’s lost. He needs to get over it and move on rather than wailing like some bitter remoaner.

Skate all around it all you want but do you concede that this is a worrying trend or not?

If people are having accounts closed for their views it is a worrying trend as I have already said. I am not convinced they are. If presenting the facts is 'skirting all around' that is also a worrying trend.

A more worrying trend is people posting half truths on social media to stir up people's anger.

A man without enough money in his account to keep it open has it closed and offered another type of account instead?

Terrifying.

A worrying trend.

It’s happened to 3 people. All of whom are probably not as rich as they’d like to think.

Im having a right panic.

It's only a few months since you wanted a persons right to free speech shut down, and for them to lose their job.......

You either want free speech or you don't

Its free speech if Bolty agrees with it, its sinister slaaaags and the Blob if not.

He's more Communist than any of the lefty liberals on here.

Ah yes, the cancel Lineker mob, now fuming in the name of Nigel Fuckn Farage.

He's a prick, but I'd defend him if he'd had his account closed because of his views. Clearly that hasn't happened though and Bolty appears to be the only one who believes it.

All we've learnt from this is that Farage is a proper snowflake.

I think most would agree with that, you'd think that people were having their bank accounts closed down, left, right and centre because of their political beliefs with the way some people are reacting.

I'm sure Bolty knows it's not the case, but I suspect he's under the same sort of spell with Farage, that Johnson managed to cast over him. He'll come round soon enough

I'll answer all three at the one hit. Firstly, as always, to ridicule is the best policy eh? This is a very serious subject as one day you may find out. Still, it might quieten some down at the moment but unlikely to do so with me.

For the terrified beaded dreadies one, I think you need to look a lot deeper than Nigel Farage who just happens to be in a position where he has a platform to publicise. Listening to a former head of the banking board, this 'cancellation' has happened to more than a thousand - in some cases destroying businesses and jobs. One person got cancelled for question the spending his banks profits on masses of rainbow decorations for Pride week. Cancellation justified do you think?

Ani - good man. Coming around to the concept of fake news so ably demonstrated by the BBC.

You know full well the answer to this. Yes - if absolute. Not selective free speech where only that approved by the wokerati is deemed acceptable.

Utter utter bullshit, for a start.

This from a bloke who blocks people on A FOOTBALL FORUM.

Can you imagine of Bolty ran a bank? His customer base would exclude 90% of the population and stink of fetid pig meat.

Wowsers.

I can't claim the glory for that one. It was another valued member of our posting fraternity/sorority/ittery. I will leave it to him/her/it to decide whether it would be apt or otherwise to to receive the deserved acclaim.

Absolutely.

In fact I'd imagine the ignore function on here is something that can be switched on or off. Maybe the tech mods could let us know? @Zico?

If so, I propose, in the interest of freedom of speech that our resident Australian citizen loves so much, that the ignore function be switched off. Let us foster healthy open debate.

What say the board?

Yay or nay?

Bolty believes everything he writes.

He’s tried the fishing angle but that’s nonsense.

He’s puddled.

Lets have a vote - and I say this with the full disclosure that I have put people on ignore, the massive soft arse that I am.
