Regarding Delfouneso, I thoguht he started last season well but he seemed to get worse as the season progressed.

Blackpool fan I used to work with said his ability was limited but their fans absolutely loved him for his work rate.

Something has certainly changed with him.  We don't appear to have that player.

Many apologies if these have been posted already.  These are two videos from a bloke who seems to enjoy goading the police. He supports the Trafford filth... and he's called "Ryan Rampage".

There are bits of action on the gloomy streets of Wigan on Tuesday - a few arrests. There's a scene on the shorter video featuring scruffy Wigan urchins posing as football hooligans safe in the knowledge they were behind police protection. Its hard to conclude anything other than that people in Wigan are a bit odd - as are many aspects of this footage.

Wigan are just annoying scruffy kids

Just on that.  Around 6.30 on Tuesday, i was queuing up for a burger near the away end.  Being quite early, there was around 50 or so Bolton fans knocking about.  Mainly families and kids.

Suddenly we hear this "we hate Bolton and we hate Bolton" chant and around 30 scruffy Wigan c*nts come over that footbridge and start a running/dance on the spot type stance and shouting "come on!". These were blokes.  All aged between 25 and 45 I'd say.  We were all a bit bemused.  If they really wanted a fight, why turn up over an hour before kick off when barely anyone was around? The Police then ran over, shoved one or two and they disappeared into the ground gesticulating that it was "the Police wot saved us".

5 minutes later, we hear some Wanderers songs and a group of kids, 15-17 years old come into view.  It looked like they'd walked in from Wigan and fair play for showing their colours but i wouldn't have fancied their chances if they'd come along any sooner.

I remember previous trips to Springfield Park quite fondly, where we just took over the town and took liberties quite openly, usually without any challenge.  I'd be quite sad if those days are now over.

We mustn’t have been too far behind that as we heard a bit of commotion as we were coming over the bridge (wanted to get in early after the shenanigans at Lincoln) and saw a big group of Bolton further up being led by two mounted police (not enough coppers to qualify as an escort).

After the last few visits I’m not even entertaining the walk down from the town centre and just pay £3 for a taxi to the bridge.

Wigan will always be wigan. Same shit different season.

Never go near any larger like minded groups. Prefer to pick off normal blokes with kids etc with little snatch sqauds and cause a scene after the game with 6 milion police in front of them.

Never changes.

I always thought Wiganers an odd lot. What I find quite telling is that having lived down south for the last 20 years I've met people from all over Lancashire - every single town, Bolton, Blackburn, Burnley, Bury, Blackpool, Preston, Rochdale, Oldham, Mancs, Scousers and all points between. Never once met anyone from Wigan. I'm not exactly sure why that should be but I'm not inclined to come up with positive explanations. Lets say there's clearly a different approach to life/mentality in that town. If you speak to rugby league fans they also tend to uniformly view Wiganers as a bit strange.

And yes. At some point the characters who waltz around on matchday imagining they are emulating what went on in the 70s and 80s are going to pick on the wrong people at the wrong time with no law about.

I find it the complete opposite. Go on holiday and can guarantee we’ll see one of the fuckers within an hour (albeit more often a rugby fan)
