A View From The Other Side

I realise some of you may have zero interest in this which is fair enough but from time to time I like to have a snoop on OppositionWays out of curiosity. Thought it was worth compiling some together which I'll do in this thread whenever I get chance.

Seems like Lincoln have some pretty level headed fans but then one or two absolutely bitter fuckers.

Pick of the bunch includes:

THE BITTER

Quote

How about 10 points deducted for every £million of debt a club has?
Wonder just how low these perennial cheats would drop?

Quote
Bolton stayed in Lincoln last night. Not leaving much to chance.

No that was so they could rack up extra debt.

Quote

Surely we can't lose to these cheats?
Why are they not on multiple minus points?

Quote

I'd rather be us than them. How long do they have to pay their debt?

Quote

The simple truth is, as much as the away fans won't want to admit it, we lost to one of those vile clubs tonight. One of those that has spent beyond their means, and clearly continues to do so.

THE PRAISE

Quote

Good game. Shit result.
By the standards of last season Bolton should be pushing for promotion. But then that was last season.

Quote

Beaten by the better team. Good to see a big away following.

Quote

FT. Good game. Credit to Bolton - they did enough to control the game throughout, although we had some bright moments, especially in the first half. They also scored at exactly the right time and managed the game out.

Quote

Bolton also look like a really good side who should be in the top half of the table.

Quote

I have backed Bolton to win the league as I think they are a decent team. They looked like a very settled team that are used to winning.

He got us out of league one, kept us in the Championship against the odds & only really failed when the ship was sinking financially. Yes he was a little direct & predictable, but I wish

Love the quote they are a big club ffs normally 8k crowds got some extra because we was in town and some Bolton sat in there end.

It’s not just coincidence that you can jumble the letters of

WIGAN ATHLETIC FOOTBALL CLUB

add a few letters and take a few letters away and it’s actually an anagram of

WHAT A SET OF DELUDED CUNTS.

Some more delusion.

I'm convinced if Humphrys had started yesterday we would have beaten that shower of shite, never seen a bunch of players and fans so ecstatic at getting a draw as them clowns!

.................................................................................

A decent ref would also have sent him off for running 20yds to push a player to the ground when play had stopped and also for booting Humphreys in the face and for hauling down Lang on the edge first half when he went on the inside.
Evatt reckons he's the best central defender in L1 - he isn't- what he is is a large physical lump

........................................................

I don't think we were settling at 1-0 if that's what you mean? Them going to ground screaming on the slightest touch stopped our forwards getting momentum going. The guy at the back was rock solid until someone blew on him! Admittedly as the half dragged on we allowed that to affect our play and the game slowed to a stroll

......................................................

If you go on the BEN. Web site. That idiot says they were the best team.

The mon is a deluded prick. If he says one thing the odds are the opposite is actually true.

Pretty accurate about Iles...

The comments were aimed at Evatt, not Iles

Be interesting to see how many wiggin get on against Accrington if ever a club was unsustainable on its crowds it’s that shower of shite which ever league they end up in .

From the Morecambe Facebook group. Fucking hell, talk about scraping about for good stuff.

What ever happens from now the league 1 experience has just been amazing.

Highest ever average attendance
Highest ever average away following
Highest ever crowd played in for a league game- 26.516 away to Sunderland
Best goal ever seen - Cole Stockton v Fleetwood.
Best save ever seen- Carson v Oxford
Cheesy chips

Highest ever average away following

That was a low bar.

Cheesy chips.

Whens the open top bus?

I hate Morecambe.

Apart from the bell, i thought Pompey fans were excellent last night.

They get behind their team instead of trying to wind the oppositions fans up, like most away fans do.

Unless they’re playin Southampton of course.

Seems as though they didn't even announce it.

Be weird without the bell as much as I hate it. Fuck me those around it must have tinnitus

Good support by Pompey

Some of theirs think they’re massive like, short memories from the days of bringing 500 on a Saturday

How many did they bring in the end? 1,000?

They might have sold 700, but there was never 700 there.

I thought they were great. Superb turn out considering the night and the distance - and considering they don't necessarily have a chance to go up. Thought their team did them justice too. Fair play.....!

Yes more like 350-400.

I agree. But it doesn't really matter how many. I was thinking how many we would take down there on a Tuesday night. I reckon roughly the same.

Bolton and Portsmouth are very similar clubs in history, size and support.

How many did we take to Plymouth? I reckon 7-800

Not a prayer we’d be taking anywhere near that in Pompey’s shoes though given the fairly late rearrangement and no ‘new ground’ factor.

If we got to the papa johns final, Pompey would have far more fans than us there.

Normal league games, fairly similar but they can pull far more than us for the big occasion.

That said, we took more to Guimares

Torquay took more than us to the Frieght Rover Final.
