The former we was supposed to meet a couple of Burnley mates in the Balmoral and/or the Bricklayers after the match ....came out of the away end into a blood bath , ducked into the cricket pavillion for a few extra drinks . Going to Burnley in the 80s/90s was the highlight of those seasons for me generally.  It was a proper big game noisy atmosphere, stood in the Long Side next to the Burnley fans separated by netting, the ground looked huge from there.  When we scored it always felt big time, Bolton fans went mental, and yes the "9 men" game was immense, I think it was Coleman that equalised for us.

I didnt think he was at the time, didnt he become a 'name' later on ?

Looking at it, he wasn't on FIFA's list until 1995, we played Brescia in '93.

We've been at it for 40 years... I sense some of these characters have previously been followers of Blackpool. Their approach to BWFC has echoes of that of our great old chums from Bloomfield Road. There are "chip on the shoulder" attitudes a la Wigan, Bury, Tranmere lobbed in there too.
