Loan Watch 2021/22

Keeping an eye on the young Whites out on loan this season.

Luke Hutchinson played in Atherton Colls 3-0 home win over Basford Utd.

Matt Alexander played in Lancaster City's 7-2 away win at Grantham Town

Dennis Politic was on the bench for the second time this week for Port Vale today but has yet to get any game time.  I guess he isn't match fit yet.

Sogndal play tomorrow.  We'll see if Ronan Darcy is there and makes an appearance.

Said similar in the Transfer thread.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if they get themselves up this year to see him playing for one of the big boys before he's 24.

I'm not sure about that.

Cremonese was always one of my favourite kits in the Gazetta years, red and grey stripes. Unusual.

He backed himself to earn a better contract elsewhere and appears to have been proven right.

It seems like his agent might actually know a thing or two after all.

Firstly, we don't know what he's been offered.

Secondly, we don't know what would have happened had he stayed and accepted our offer. He could have had an improved offer subsequently, which again we wouldn't know the value of.

Some big assumptions here.

As it happens, it appears he didn't want to stay so bollocks to him.

They've agreed a fee with us, and reportedly agreed to pay a percentage of any future transfer fee they receive. I can't imagine they'd do that only to sign him to a contract that expires next summer (as our contract offer would). It seems a bigger assumption to think any contract they offer wouldn't be better financially, even if it's over a longer period of time.

The scenario you set out in your second paragraph also applies at his new club.

Missing the point entirely.

I'm referring to his potential earnings here, as you were initially. Not what any new club would be looking at paying.

Unless you are intimating he'd already got something lined up with the Italian team before we'd offered him anything, so turned it down, which is fanciful.

No one knows for sure, but him signing the contract offered and grafting away at fitness and ability, may well have yielded an improvement within months. Contract upgrades are a regular occurrence.

Looking at the crowds they play in front of, they're not paying out big bucks unless backed by a wealthy individual, in which case they'd be looking at better any road.

Perhaps there are personal reasons behind him going over there, but it seems no one here was particularly interested, and maybe that says everything.

His potential earnings here were just that, potential.

He was offered a twelve-month extension to the contract he signed as a teenager (a decision I agree with). He rejected it, presumably because he thought he could attract a better (longer-term, probably higher salary) from another club.

That has almost certainly proven to be the case. He has the opportunity to graft and earn an even better contract no matter which club he plays for, and there's a fairly strong possibility he has more opportunity to play, and therefore earn that improved contract, at his new club.

But I don't particularly care because he's gone.

Amen to that.

Funny old World, football.

In my mind I have a bit of an unrealistic attitude of "got injured, missed the whole season, was helped by us to regain fitness & strength whilst on a sick note for 12m ... so he owes us".

But he's no more than potential.

If we all thought he was shite we'd be delighted to see the back of him.

We're all over a player we rate, demand the dropping & booting out of ones we don't ... yet wouldn't want to see these ethics in our ordinary workplaces.

He had a contract, it's run its course, he chose to fck off.

That's where I was at.

But he couldn't get a regular start at Port Vale, so fuck him.

Senior gone to Chorley on loan.

Good luck to him. Right move.

Evatt doing some good work in this transfer window.

I think this is a transfer all parties can be happy with.

Seems a good bloke

wasnt gonna play under Evatt

Sell on for interest.

Wish him well.

Seens seems to be doing all the right things. I believe his contract is up this June, don’t expect him to be our #2 next season but surely a new deal is on the cards?

The beginning of the end for young Matt I think.  Good luck.

  • 2 weeks later...

Ronan Darcy has barely had a kick for Queens Park, anyone know if he’s injured again or just not good enough for the Dog & Duck league?

Been on the bench for each of the 3 games they've played since he moved up there and got on the pitch each time.  Not yet made the staring line though yet.

Yep, got promised a gig in Serie B but got his passport confiscated and he’s accepting up to 10 blokes a day in some Lombardy bordello.
