Not in Crawley Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 To stop spoiling the elite music thread for those that don't give a shit about big hair and big guitars, maybe we should put Nu-Metal and Grindcore squabbling on a separate thread? I'm starting with today the mighty Wildhearts release 21st Century Love Songs, looking forward to gettiing stuck in later. Quote
frank_spencer Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Bought tickets for Skindred and Royal Republic in October last night. No idea why I didn't have tickets already it's a cracking bill. My first post lockdown gig is on the 19th of this month. Going watching Massive Wagons at the academy. Quote
Marc505 Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Still need to buy Jinjer's new album, the singles off it have been tougher to get into than their previous stuff. Right at the top of my must see live list, though they're an incredible band. Quote
Nowack Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 A lad I know drummed for bands called aghast, corpsing and krysthla, which all sound like the sort of band names suitable for this thread. Anyway his new band is called cage fight and their usp is the lead singer is a girl with long hair who screams rather than a man with long hair who screams. I`m led to believe they are very good and thought you may appreciate it on here. NEWS: Cage Fight release debut single, 'Hope Castrated'! | DEAD PRESS! | It's more than "just music" to us Quote
Spider Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 (edited) Senjutsu came out today, the new Maiden album. 2 listens in and very impressed. 🤘 Edited September 3, 2021 by Spider Quote
Not in Crawley Posted September 3, 2021 Author Posted September 3, 2021 Half way through the Wildhearts - not as good as their last album, some great riffs but all a bit one note . I can understand why they are taking Discharge out on tour with them as it's really spit in your face heavy punk at times. Quote
little whitt Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Anyway ABBA have got some new stuff out Quote
Whitestar Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Did a job yesterday for an old geezer who said he used to drive tour buses for bands and that Tony Hadley had once had a shower at his house and that a band called Planet Gong (one for the swan cellar lads) had their own cannabis farm in the Pyrenees on the French/Spain border and played festivals there. MickyD Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 In fact, I’d go as far as to say it sounds like the lead “singer” is the Tasmanian Devil. Quote
Nowack Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 I agree, I asked to see what others who listen to this sort of stuff think. I have been to a few gigs and I genuinely cannot tell one song from the other but the people are fun to watch and unbelievably nice. Quote
Whitestar Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Part way through Lancaster music festival a couple of years back we were watching some American punk/thrash/ f*****n noise band they were awful but part way through a track of awful noise the female lead pulls out a clarinet and thinks she's akka fuckin bilk, most people were outa the place by then and they were supposed to be good. Even though this more chilled out track is probably my favourite of theirs Quote
Dimron Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 Wifey likes Magic Mountain But she also likes Volbeat so that explains a lot. I'm more bluesy Quote

I'm a Geoff, are you thinking of Ticklepants? I think Mr Hillage was in Gong when I saw them at the Free Trade Hall but I did see him with his own band at Leeds Uni Quote
