How are they playing?

Not very well.

Senegal on top.

Walker poor for their goal.

Not much cohesion.

Tuchel had better have this magic potion brewed properly to win “big games” next summer.

Walker made a great cross for Gordon who missed a sitter to make it 2-0, then he switches off and Senegal get a deserved equaliser, Gordon would have been through had Gallagher played it to him instead of Saka,

Henderson has had to make a few saves and Senegal the better team, England goal pretty fortunate as Gordon shot goes through keepers legs, hits his arse and conveniently falls to Kane

Just watched the last 20 minutes and it was everything I hate about England summer friendlies. Over expectant fans, tired un motivated players after another long season, terrible tactics lots of sideways passing and no cutting edge, any ingenuity or individualism coached out of them and to cap it off a stupid var decision from a female referee, oh yes and the usual itv coverage.

That's 3 interviews I've heard Tuchel lambasting the players and hanging them out to dry.

Never bodes well all that.

Long way to go till next summer.

But I agree with what Keane just said. Early signs are not good

No quality, no cohesion, no intensity, the players don’t look together.

We’ve regressed since Southgate.

Under Southgate we did very well, but didn't turn up in 2 finals, getting to that last final was a bad watch, we needed a miracle Bellingham goal and only played well in the first half v Netherlands in semi, so for me change was needed to take us to the next step, but whatever this is, isn't it,

we have talented players and the squad will be different next year and there's some young talent like Nwaneri to come through, but these last games have been a joke, bit like when we lost 4-0 to Hungary a couple of years ago, it's very negative atm and whilst I understand it's end of season, it will be the same next season and the same for most teams with this pointless CWC too

You're so negative 😀

Firstly, I don't really care, I'm just joining in when really I'm more interested in cricket, tennis and golf until Bolton start playing again.

But a year ago this week we had the "embarrassment" of losing at home to Iceland.  But it was a friendly, and the fans and players didn't really care.  Same tonight, surely nobody will remember this result next week.

And we were about 1 second from going home from the Euros in disgrace after the 1-1 v Denmark, 0-0 v Slovenia and 1-0 down to Slovakia in injury time.

Let's not pretend we were much better a year ago.

Indeed.

The performances during the last tournament were poor.

We got through though, and we were happy with doing that.

Nothing has really changed.

Yet.

Once qualified, the real judgement will be success/performances.

GS did well in his time, but it peaked and didn't evolve, and subsequently became stale.

Just like Evatt.

It was time to go.

This mon was never a long term secondment- unless by some miracle we win it!

Tuchel was appointed as a tournament manager, his contract is 18 months. The WC is essentially a knock-out and the best team rarely wins. Others can probably provide better examples but Chelsea's Champions League win in 2021 is probably one.

Agreed he wasn’t picked for end of season friendlies. I’ve no idea if it will work or not but losing to Senegal is no different than us in a pre season friendly that no one remembers
