Tommy Cooper. He didn’t have to say or do anything and people laughed. 
Saw him in Wythenshawe one night and he had the crowd in hysterics before he even came on.

He performed at Blighty’s one night and after the show, he got a taxi back to the Last Drop. He stuffed something into the top pocket of the taxi drivers jacket and said ‘Thanks, have a drink on me’

It was a tea bag.

I was told that a long time ago. The person who told me worked at Blighty’s and said it was true.
Maybe, maybe not.
