  • I am not a football player. If there was a button I would have pressed it a long, long time ago. It's really hard living with depression. I take medication and they help. I love Bolton Wanderers. But

  • Thank you all. Xx

Still as heartbreaking now as it was then. Poor fella.

It’s 10 years tomorrow actually.

Sad loss to the game, bloke’s bloke.

Apologies. BBC sport notification popped up and said Gary Speed 10 years on.

Proper sad day whenever. 😢

Still find it unbelievable a decade on. Such a tragedy. What a player and, more importantly, what a great man. RIP Speedo

I drive past his home, where the tragedy happened, quite frequently & it never fails to register.

Gutted when he passed away, but so pleased to have witnessed him in a white shirt.

had a few drinks and chats with him

what a lovely guy

RIP

RIP Speedo

Can’t believe it’s ten years ago but never stopped missing such a good guy and terrific player. Such a sad loss to both his family, friends and football.

people are on about clapping on 6 mins

IM IN

Absolute machine one of best we’ve had the pleasure of watching at Bolton

That one at City.

Its up there in my favourite bwfc moments. Fucking brilliant that night giving it to the City fans having been battered all game!

This was a proper shit few weeks. My best mans mum, 2 friends and Speedo all gone between 3rd November and 10th December. I was never away from the crem.

I remember it like yesterday when I found out, just about to go into pets at home for cat food

R.I.P Speedo, the above messsages echo my exact thoughts, fabulous bloke who wasn’t up his own arse, right up there with the greats 🙂

I remember signing him and questioning it because surely he was past it. How wrong I was.

What an absolute model professional. Every team would be a better team with a Speedo in it.

RIP.

The header, last goal on the compilation, was a monster of a goal.

Oh for such a joy nowadays.

10 years blimey! RIP speedo.

Proper shiver down the back moments I also thought he was past it when we signed him couldn’t have been more wrong . Up there with the best that have ever played for us . RIP Gary .

I remember at the time being torn between how sad it was and how he could do that to his family as even 10 years ago we still didnt really understand mental health properly.

Ive often thought about on the darkest of days but I never ever would and it just shows what a bad place anyone must be in to do that.

We are so lucky to have seen him play, what a fucking player and just oozed leadership. They dont make them like Gary Speed anymore.

Will be honoured to celebrate him on the 6th minute.

Exactly the same ... as, I assume, did Newcastle as they released him.

But 139 games. Blimey.

1:50 into this; shows how much he meant
