so what is the crack with Dempsey

not fully fit yet

just not being picked

or injured again and they're keeping it quiet

he showed up for that EFL trophy game and not been seen since

Problem with Dempsey is that he dives into tackles without the thought he could get injured again. Probably injured and they are keeping it quiet; getting annoying not keeping the fan base informed

Exactly what I want to see from my Bolton players! I get bloody angry with those players who pull out of challenges, in case they get injured.

Randall might have more technical ability than Dempsey, but one Dempsey is worth three Randalls in my opinion.

It’s a concern as he’s one of my favourites.

Article yesterday in the BN talking about folk returning from injury that name checked Gale, Erhahon, Warren,  Adeboyejo, and McAtee but no mention of Kyle.

You could say the same about Forrester as he wasn’t mentioned but a few days before yesterday’s article it mentioned that Dempsey had got minutes for the B team in a friendly.  What is worrying is that Dempsey did not play in the Bbteam game that Forrester did but I did see in the pictures of training before Cardiff he was there

Aye. Serves the uncommitted fckr right for playing on with a fractured vertebrae when we were down to the bare bones.

That's his own responsibility.

Seems a decent chap, can play a bit but he's been a total drain on our resources over the past 2 seasons.

No good to us if he can't stay fit.

Just checked his current injury is fuck all to do with his back :D

I don’t often have sympathy for players who are so rarely available and like mentioned above, see them as a drain on resources. I also don’t think Dempsey has that much quality either. Heavy touch, not a cute passer but he does have pace and energy. I’m torn on him. Wouldn’t bat an eye lid if he was released, but would also at the same time, be pleased for him if he got back around the team.

Well if he's not back today that's probably him done. Would love to see him get back to fitness and compete with Forss for that number 10 spot though

Great to see Dempsey again yesterday.

I think SS is managing his comeback really well.

They are downplaying his involvement and contribution, which considering his previous history, seems sensible.

On one of SS’s interviews yesterday he said there’d been a few B team games cancelled otherwise he might have had more game time.

It will be interesting to see at what point he replaces Mcatee/Randall on the bench. I suspect this will be his first league involvement - could it be this Saturday?

His versatility across those midfield positions could be very beneficial to us.

A good article, which sums up what I said above.

A really good, patient and sensible approach to his comeback 👏

His tenacity could really come in handy during the forthcoming abyss of the season.

This spell is what determines the season.

Games thick and fast, injuries and suspensions thick and fast and utterly wank weather and crap surfaces.

Dempsey at his best completely balances the team and would be by far our best option in the ‘10’ role.

If he’s back at his best then I back him to make a massive difference to the second half of the season, and possibly even put himself in contention for a new contract (Sheehan was in a similar situation a few years ago).

Big question is whether he comes back to his best, and can he stay fit for half a season.

I would like to think he can play a big part in getting us promoted

if we do get promoted, I'd not be offering him a new contract, we'd need better more relibale players in the championship

Great motivation for 90% of the players not under contract for next season - bust a gut to get us promoted, and find another club.

Be average, maybe lose narrowly in the play offs, and here's a new contract, see you next season 😀

thats one way of looking at it I guess

would like to think the current squad would bust a gut to get us promoted just to honour the existing contracts

if we get to the championship, I want us to build a squad capable of competing in the championship

if SS thinks KD has something to offer, then fair enough
