Gale out for 12 weeks. Erhahon 8 weeks. Shit if so, so hoping they are bollocks rumours. Not surprised SS said Gale was injured with is knee against Northampton then they played him against Peterborough and now they have fucked him up just poor behind the scenes yet again managing injuries . may be the reason he is keeping it quiet is because he doesn’t want the criticism Edited October 14, 2025 by Farnywhite Quote

desperado Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 (edited) Interesting that Forrester started for the B team today (they won 3-1 v Rotherham) Dempsey not involved at all. But I saw he was on the training photos today - so could be considered Saturday. Edited October 21, 2025 by desperado Quote

Next international weekend, Toal will be called up. Forino has had a few injuries and illnesses in little more than a year with us. Another and Forrester is starting. It only takes one of Forino or Toal to be absent and he’s on the bench. This will include any suspensions. Quote
Whitesince63 Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 I really like Forrester and I just hope this time he can stay fit. Some may disagree but for me he’s the best all round defender we’ve got, strong tackler, blocks crosses well and gets his head to most coming into the box. I’d hate to lose him because he’s not getting game time. Quote

Here’s a left field thought - with Erhahon out for the time being and not much else currently available as a ball-winning DM, would it be creative or dumb to try out Forrester in front of the CBs in training just to see if he could hack it? It’s just that he theoretically has all the requisite qualities to play that role, so there’s no harm in having a look is there? Quote

If he could play midfield I daresay it would have cropped in his career by now. But more importantly the idea of bringing back a player from injury to play in such an important position and play him out of position is dumb. Appreciate you have said in training but given we have Morley and Sheehan with Dempsey further down the road to recovery (although he is going very slowly) it would be a very strange call. Forester is in danger of becoming one of those players whose ability increases massively in peoples minds when he is injured. Quote
DazBob Posted October 22, 2025 Posted October 22, 2025 How many times over the years have we heard suggestions that CBs can make the step into midfield?? If Campo, Hierro and Faye can do it then it must be a piece of piss, eh? Quote
boltonboris Posted October 22, 2025 Posted October 22, 2025 The game has changed so much. Tackling is almost a thing of the past in midfield and so are aerial duels. I see absolutely no good reason to want to put defenders into arguably the most important area of the pitch. Quote
gonzo Posted October 22, 2025 Posted October 22, 2025 Why are people obsessed with changing players positions The same positions theyve played in all their careers and tailored to play professionally? Quote

Because we did it during our best top flight spell 20 years ago and it worked It's when we start clamouring for strikers at full back, because Pedersen, that we know it's gone too far Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted October 22, 2025 Posted October 22, 2025 Sometimes these things happen out of adversity, and it works. Sometimes a manager may see something that makes him feel a player could do a job in a different position. Continually playing someone put of position, to their, and the team's detriment is stupid. One of the aspects of good and shit management. Quote
