  • I just want my lad to witness a promotion. Don't really care what happens or who plays for us after that. I definitely will in the future, but the absolute focus has to be to get out of this mind-numb

  • I disagree. His BWFC years were some of his greatest and happiest of his career. His latest SSN documentary piece highlighted this, as does countless footage of his wonder, his PFA nominatio

What was described as a strain and a bit of fatigue now is a decent enough tear so who knows SS doesn’t really know just hoping for the best

Not a popular opinion, I know, but I’m ok with Tutu as a back up there. He’s far from perfect and will need to keep improving the defensive part of the game, but I’ve quite liked the look of him there.

Especially, (like Conway) from an attacking FB perspective. I think the issue with both of them, which has been seen at times in pre-season, is when they are challenged by a good winger.

Shame Taylor is injured, as I think it would have been him and Cogley as starting FBs. But a great opportunity for Conway

Another reason which focuses the attention at LB rather than RB, is that Cogley has a great fitness record, so with him and an attacking RB reserve in sittu, it’s LB for me.

And going off SS comments he agrees.

Good natural fitness is great, of course, but nothing can be done to prevent an opponent deliberately clattering into someone and causing injury.

That can happen to any of them, including Cogley, which is why you need a back up. I’m happy with Tutu in that role. Back ups, who can be sat on the bench most of the season, aren’t usually the same quality.

If either were to get injured then RB becomes a priority. That would be the same in a few positions now if someone was to get injured there

We only currently have one fit LB, so I think SS is right to target this area first.

Did anybody read anything about dalby being a 3 months out job ?    Iles said before last night's game that he was going to ask ss but I ain't seen anything to say he did.

Just the first few games according to what SS told Iles after the game

Dalby will not be available for the opening weekend of the season but Schumacher has played down rumours that there could be a serious issue, which threatens the former Wrexham forward’s involvement in the first couple of months of the campaign.

“He won't make the first couple of games, he'll be a bit longer than that,” said the Bolton boss. “I don't know exactly, it depends on how his symptoms are and how he progresses. But he's moving in the right direction.

“It was a decent enough tear in the hamstring when he got it, so we won't rush it. To bring him back too quickly you could see him break down again, so we will decide how long depending on how that recovery goes.

“Again, it's another area of the pitch which everyone can see we need to strengthen in.”

What’s wrong with Johnson or Inwood fitting in at LB short term, both would be better than Murphy last year whereas with Forrester out we don’t really have any cover for Coggers if he’s missing. We signed both Tutu and Schon as wing backs so let’s not waste what money we have on short term signings and spend it on quality where we know we’re short and right now that’s two good strikers.

Any news on when Warren & Dalby are back?

Warren has been cleared to play with a cast on.

Suppose it's fitness having missed some preseason games.

Seems to be a lot of expectation on Warren.

Lad's just stepping up from the 8th tier. A good season for him will be training regularly with the first team and making the squad occasionally. Let's not get ahead of ourselves with the lad.

I like the look of him, but as Wakey says, to expect him to come in and make an impact ahead of what we have is asking a lot. Again, he'll have a part to play but I imagine that will be in cup games initially, or off the bench late on

No expectation at all

I’ve just got an irrational gut feeling he’s going to blow us all away 😄

SS suggested he'd been the surprise package pre season.

I don't think he's here just to go into the B team.

Possibly a loan, or around the first team squad.

If he's good enough, he's good enough

See Kone at Wycombe

Only one way to find out, get him on the bench and give him game time, give him EFL cup game starts

And if he's not ready, loan him out

To be honest, having seen a couple of pre season games, McAtee didn't stand out in anyway, and if he was a new, young signing, I'd be saying he's not ready yet/loan him out.

Each to their own, but Lawrence appeared no worse, and perhaps was more mobile/hard working.

He may expect to be starting, but there was nothing to say he was nailed on.

That doesn’t surprise me now he needs to sign a RB .

CMG to replace him... :)

That USA goalie played RB for the schools under 8

There is a link to the actual video elsewhere on another thread.

I get the impression he will be back with the squad relatively soon- providing there are no new/connected injuries in the meantime.

Are we all agreed that his song is utter shite (replacement in Aaron Collins ole ole)? It doesn’t even fit properly - surely we can do better.
