Controversial BW opinions....

Stolen this topic that's currently running on talksport about football in general...

Lets hear your Bolton ones...

Ill start....

Ricardo Gardner was a terrible defender and made himself look ace with last ditch tackles that if his positioning was right in the first place he wouldnt have to make.

(Ace going forward like)

  • And we 'care' more about them than most would like to admit. The fact they're top of the league (basically) pisses me off more than it probably should.

Man Utd are our main rivals😀

Our fans are as obsessed with Wigan as they are with us and it is embarrassing

Think a large chunk of it has been stoked up and kept going day after day, minute after minute by twitter.

Would be interesting to see what people's opinions on Wigan and the rivalry is say 10 years down the line from now if we stay more or less in the same division as eachother over that time. As it stands at the minute, whatever anyone says about whether they care or not, fixtures between us are heading towards being major headaches for all concerned.

Anyway, this is controversial opinions thread... I'm not really that arsed about Blackburn and never have been.

Crowds are bigger these days at the Reebok, than they was in that misty eyed past at Burnden in equivalent leagues.

David Lee couldn’t cross a ball to save his life unless a defender was challenging him .

Away days are better with a couple hundred crowd than they are with a sell out

the mustard sports bra kit was alright

Adam Bogdan was more strawberry blonde than ginger.

The portrait big screen gave me asthma

Big Ruths superfan status is over stated as she worked on the trains and had free rail travel across the country then got free tickets to home games for selling programmes.

The majority of BWFC supporters are really good looking sharp dressed and well mannered people, whilst the rest are basically affluent jet setters that fly in from their gin palace super yacht bases in the med.

1 or 2 used to be scruffy idiots but that's all changed.

Dougie Freedman was a tactical genius and not a 'control the game without the ball' wanker.

Given the choice, I would rather see Bolton with the League Cup, than see England win the World Cup.

Gary Madine was a better striker for us than Adam Le Fondre

There’s always one that takes it too far 😂

Gary Megson was a decent manager.

He was sacked on a 5 game unbeaten run whilst mid table in the Premier League.

He was always on a hiding to nothing due to our fucking idiotic fans with their Megson Out banners bbefore he'd even entered the building.  We have a small minority of utter utter fuckwits

We wouldn't have won the Cup in '58 if the Munich air crash hadn't of happened.

Not having that

Alladyce is our best/most succesful manager of all time

he's also just a long ball merchant

Speaking of Holden, if that injury hadn't happened he'd have been playing for United within a year.

This thread is worse than @HomerJaydebate on hp or daddies

Following relegation from the top flight in 1980 and to cut costs considerably, it was decided to permanently remove the potpourri and reed diffusers from the toilets beneath the Burnden Paddock.

You can still smell the burnden bogs in Sainsburys in town if you want nostalgia. Grim

The Penalty spot has been preserved and a memorial spot is visible in Great Lever’s Burnden Asda

Fans were to blame for the Burnden park disaster due to turning up late, drunk and without tickets.
