Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 24, 2022 Site Supporter Share Posted January 24, 2022 News have now picked up on all this, and the debate has started. Didn't know about them until the other day and they are a bit controversial. What's the general feeling?
Site Supporter Spider Posted January 24, 2022 Site Supporter Share Posted January 24, 2022 Do any of them involve giving car drivers the right to knock groups of lycra-clad noncincles off their carbon fibre sex toys, when they're riding 4 abreast on country lanes? If so, it's a thumbs up from me.
Site Supporter MickyD Posted January 24, 2022 Site Supporter Share Posted January 24, 2022 Pedestrians insisting they suddenly have right of way risk being hurt. Should be fun.
Traf
As with most new stuff, I think its bollocks.
Traf
So, they're saying cars turning right have to wait whilst pricks on bikes overtake them?

Only if there’s about 10 of them in a bunch, all wearing Lycra and discussing whose turn it is to rub cream into their leathery ball bags when they finish their ride, the massive fucking queers

If bicycles are now supposed to ride in the centre of a lane, then they shouldn't be passing a car on the outside of it whilst it's waiting to turn. They should be waiting in turn, like any other vehicle. It certainly isn't sensible to tell cyclists to ride in the centre of a lane neither. It may have changed, but when I did my cbt on the way to a motorcycle test, we were taught to ride a third of the way into the lane, unless it was a dual carriageway, in which case we could ride in the centre of your lane. The pedestrian crossing as shown I agree with- in fact I thought it was already the case! They still need to look before crossing though! Sweep
If they want to use the road, then they should pay road tax, until then, get them on the pavements

Not in Crawley
Pedestrians don't give a fuck in London anyway, so nothing will change there.

Whitestar
Any cyclist wearing a dash cam type device is just hoping that a pist off motorist will pull over and attack them with a cricket bat , this will then allow plenty of time to upload it to YouTube whilst they recover from smashed teeth and broken ribs. Can’t see the bit in the chart above about cyclists riding in the middle of the road - am I missing something?

Aye, it's a separate bit apparently. They don't have to use cycle lanes if they're there I've been told. 1 minute ago, fatty said: I thought pedestrians had priority already ??? I did too. Unless it was "guidance" and is now the rule?
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 24, 2022 Author Site Supporter Share Posted January 24, 2022 Just now, Casino said: They do, if theyre crossing Now, its before theyre even in the road Its shit That bit is obvious; but like fatty, I though you were 'supposed' to give way to someone waiting. Reason being that the pavement is still part of the highway, so if you're leaving one road to turn into another, then you need to give way to another user of the highway going straight on. Seems that that wasn't the case, unless, as I said before, it was only guidance. Either way, if pedestrians start walking straight across without looking becasue it's their right of way, then folk are going to get hit.
