Ah must have been a match before then, or after? Ace for the kids though getting to play in a stadium and nice for bury too. Was 5-1 to St Gabriels in the one I watched, which must be absolute gutting for BGS,

Yeah before mate

Is the idea that they join, continue in the NW Counties and play at Gig ??

If thats the case, then they will move up the leagues quite fast....like a Macc type situation.

I think there’s a few of them thinking they’ll somehow get shifted up a few leagues once they effectively become the old club again. Presumably they will move over to the previous FA membership number which although quite minor in reality is seen as quite symbolic for this kind of thing. In reality it means fuck all to the leagues though and they’ll have to earn their way up. Gates of 2-3,000 will get them so far but, as Macc will find, there is one hell of a well-funded log jam at the top of the NPL, never mind Conference North/National.

Like I said elsewhere, South Shields with their 2k+ can't get out of the Northern Prem. FC United with their crowds, custom built ground after leaving Gigg and the BBC licking their bumholes got slapped back down from the Conf North. Highly unlikely they'd ever get within touching distance of the league. Time for a reality check.

Their best comparison is probably Chester, and even they only managed a couple of years in the Conference before going back down.

Yes and further afield Hereford and Darlington etc.  There are so many ex league clubs down their its scary for any club thinking they can come back based on their history and crowds, they are just 1 of about 20 plus and that's without adding in those with no history but currently have wealthy owners.  But in the short term Bury fans will be buzzing if and when they play matches at Gigg Lane again, they must have thought that had gone forever.

Wouldn’t say they struggled for 2k mate comfortable 3k plus

There are plenty of occasions we could pull out less than 2k. Pointless set up. Fair play to the even smaller number that just support Bury for sticking through it. We won’t see them in the league again though. Not for a long time.

Season Competition Average

Away fans in that? Also just read they had 3rd worst average in football league. Tinpot. A fake Man U in their own town had more on.

We do very well considering our location but the likes of bury, rochdale & oldham it’s bloody hard to attract the numbers

Agreed mate. I respect Oldham and Rochdale more though. Bury people call town Manchester. You do well to get away from em ha.

All rags innit.

I think they’ve all changed to blue these days looking at the shirts or other club-shop apparel being worn around town.

Thing is, that’s even worse if all they do is buy the clothing of whoever currently wins stuff.

Be good to see Bury back at Gigg Lane. Heard though stand behind goal( not away end) has failed safety checks and can’t be used? Will cost a few quid to sort? But I suppose they will not fill it anyway??

They won't be getting 1000 on in whatever jumper for goalposts league they end up in

I doubt they'll get anywhere near the league for decades now, unless they get back massively rolled (and that's quite unlikely I'd have thought)

I always wondered, and I'm sure @Carloswill be able to explain it. Why when they were in trouble, did they not attempt to merge with FCUM, to save themselves and also to get FCUM into the league....

Because it would have gone to a vote amongst FCUM membership and they’d never go with such an idea (and indeed actually voted against a similar suggestion not longer after formation with Leigh RMI)

No idea on that one. Other than FC had got millions in grants and all the people involved were balls deep in massaging their own egos.
