The Cost Of Living Crisis

Anyone felt the pinch yet?

Notice a good proportion of my hotels are quiet this week. But with the jubilee round the corner and pride the week after maybe folk are simply saving their trips for that.

Cant help but feel the media are driving a lot of it. They seem hell bent on us heading into a recession. Making people panic and stop spending.

They should be telling everyone its all gravy.

Only area Ive felt it is diesel. £154 to fill my van the other day. That's taking the piss.

It's been mild as lately, I'd be shocked if anyone has as had the heating on, other than the old biddies of course

For an hour last night to dry some towels, been a bit stormy here the last few days after it got up to 23 over the weekend which was a bit mad.

I think we've only had the heating on once or twice in the last month or so, although I was tempted to flick it on last night, as it was fucking freezing last night.

I suspect it'll be in within a few days.

This morning there have been absolutely loads of Brent Geese flying south, which seems a month or so later than usual, directly over my house...... @gonzodoes this mean we're in for a cold one or a warm one?

They're noisy fuckers as well, honking away at 5am, for some reason this year, my house is directly in their flightpath it seems

Will be gay ones heading to Portugal for some winter sunshine. Is a bit late that, they're normally the first to bugger off. Unseasonably mild conditions meaning they were in no rush, if it carries on like this we are on for a storm season :(

Risky as they only allowed to stay for 3 months now.

The south london geese seem to stay here all year round. Hard fuckers living in a dirt pond in Downham outside a Home Base and crossing major roads without a care in the world.

Stab you as soon as look at you.

I thought the gays headed to Gran Canaria for the winter.

Thermostat is set at 20 degrees for when we wake up and throughout the day when we’re at home. My Nest app tells me it’s been on between 30 mins and 60 mins a day for 8 of the last 10 days.

My dad and brother asked if I fancied joining them in going over Xmas. I said no. Makes sense now.

Wise move.

Never get the cock swinging not putting the heating on. Why would you sit in a cold house. Weird.

We’ve got hive thermostats on the radiators to stop wasting energy heating rooms we aren’t in but the basement is on most of the day as it’s fucking Baltic

We've had a mild as fuck October.

It was 18 degrees last week. Don't go celebrating yet.

I have a thermostat downstairs and upstairs set at 21 degrees. If it drops below that during the hours of 5-7 and 16-18 then the heating will come on. Fuck knows if it as actually come on in the morning or not as I am usually asleep. I have not noticed it coming on in the afternoon yet.

Mrs Manc has just hit the menopause

Thermostat has suddenly moved from 20C to 15C

We live in a townhouse, it's 5 flights of stairs from the front door to the top bedroom, it's like living in a chimney. Lounge is cold, upstairs bedroom hotter than hell.

Plus no doors anywhere, so they built MASSIVE radiators in every room, you either melt or freeze.

Nice view over Crystal Palace though.

21⁰C!

Are you on copious amounts of blood thinners!

Even our log burner has only been used on a handful of occasions so far.

Yeah I know that's quite high really but it still hasn't kicked in much at all.

Ours normally sits at around 25C in the winter, even though I try and turn it down to 22C, it somehow magically works its way back up

25! Jesus, you must be roasting!  The missus always likes it at 22 but as she is boiling her tits off in Qatar I have dropped it.

I would be if she didn't leave the windows open to get a bit of fresh air in, and the bi-folds open so the dog can get into the garden when he wants to 😀
