I was always frustrated by Rooney because I never felt he was the player he could have been because he didn’t commit in the way someone like Ronaldo did. Imagine how good Rooney might have been

I'd side with Gazza, but to say Rooney didn't commit seems bizarre. Both great English players.

Yeah I think that too. 

Same with gazza. If they had their innate talent but coupled it with the absolute focus of Ronaldo it would have been unreal to see. 

 

For Italia 90 alone its Gazza, for all his talent Rooney never took a tournament by the throat & made the country dream like Gazza did.

He did pretty well in euro 2004. Let’s not forget Rooney did it at both club and international level, you can’t compare that to half a dozen games

ability wise it’s close but it’s about what that ability delivers over a career. 
 

would’ve been a different Gazza if he’d of gone to United instead of Spurs

Talent probably not a lot lot between them Rooney more of a goal scorer but  the way Gaza could just drift past people from central midfield only maradona was better at that time . Definitely the best two British talents since George best 

Let's have it right, Gazza is loved because he was a raving piss head and a bit of a boy 

His achievements in football isn't even comparable to Rooney

England didn't particularly get the best out of any em but out of international and club football,  Rooney clearly had the better career.

if Gazza would of signed for united instead of Rangers when fergie was after him the same with shearer they would of won loads of trophies so it doesn’t count when you are just comparing like for like .
Would Rooney have won one trophy if he would of stayed at Everton ?
