I wouldn’t be shocked if this was an extract

Anything he says/doesn’t say won’t be good enough unless it’s followed up by a series of positive results.

It’s just hot air, but hot air which he’s obligated to spout to be friendly to the press. 

I’m beyond getting upset about his words.

If he was going to say anything, then honesty probably wasn’t the worst option.

Preferable IMO to nothing, lies, insults or stating the obvious.

He's painted himself into a corner with comments over the seasons.

Pretty much whatever he says now, is likely to be met with disdain.

Folk will let it pass if results are good and progression is obvious. 

Otherwise, it is a slippery slope.

Is this referencing the article in the BN today? If so, that's not what he said at all!

If you have seen something else please post it as I can't see anywhere that he has the full backing or that he has said that.

aye, best football team in the league and all that

I've had mainly contempt for his soundbites since Barnsley away in the league last season when instead of a rallying call he was pondering his future

I'm sure we'll win on Saturday though, I could quite easily see us win the next 5 going into the Wycombe game

I’d take him in a heartbeat despite all the potential wrongs in it. Would be an upgrade (an expensive one at that)

Listened to one of Sam's Podcast episodes recently. He sounded like he wasn't far off having a carer.

Blimey I thought I was being optimistic thinking we'd win the next 2!

I'd happily take defeat at Wycombe if we can get 15 points (and 2 local derby wins) before then.

ok, maybe not easily, but I would go into each expecting us to be able to win it

we responded well to Huddersfield, so I'm expecting a reaction Saturday

as said before, we're just going round in circles, so we're due a good run

I think it’s more Evatt’s interpretation of it.

He later in those quotes goes on to say;

“I am not naïve or delusional, I have been part of this game all my life and I understand that we need results. We are not where we want to be right at this moment.

“But I believe we can get those results, and I believe that the board support me, so while that is the case we will keep moving forwards.”

Crossing over with the other thread a bit, but I’m really not up for this call for Sharon to come out and say “We are fully behind Ian, he will get further support in January” as @Lostock Whites was claiming earlier.

Other than Evatt himself I’m not sure anyone wants to hear that at the moment! 😂.

I’d only want to be hearing that if there were clear signs in the next couple of months of addressing these long standing issues in big games and local games, having firmly put ourselves into a position of being promotion candidates. 

All pretty unlikely. 

If I’m hearing those words pre-Saturday, then we lose to Blackpool and the board decides that’s enough, they may very well want to get rid (I’d hope).

Yep fair enough. Marc Iles has been a little mischievous in his headline i think, which may mislead the lazier readers! 

At this point, only results will answer questions. The board aren’t stupid, and want a return on investment. They’ll have their own cut off point but, as long as we’re within play offs touching distance, I think they’ll stick with him. 

I don’t necessarily agree, but it ain’t my cash and I can’t affect it, so I’ll not be losing sleep.
