Brand Evatt

We had a decent thread a while back discussing Evatt’s philosophies and approach to the game (think it got tainted and pulled)

So not a bad time to start it up again at the beginning of the season.

In the main he’s done a fantastic job. A minority lost patience round about Xmas/New Year in both seasons.

But surely now he has the large backing of the majority of fans and the brand he talked about implementing here is now well and truly established.

Good article above highlighting how he’s using Sport Science to get the squad performing to it’s optimum level.

A young, meticulous, intelligent and passionate individual, who we are very lucky to have leading our club.

I hope he gets what he deserves with promotion to the Championship.

All the analysis and data aside, I just don't get how the board can seriously be sat thinking anything else but that change needs to happen. And if they think that Evatt can be the one to change

Nice and tight at the back there Owen :D

Theres a grubby orange meathead vile druggy thug on queensparkways posting some stats about the defensive midfielder he refuses to play as we speak.

Excellent news, isn't it?

Perhaps the £100k he owes the club and the shares he holds helped him decide 😉

“The next move from Barrow was always going to be a pivotal one for my career and how I envisioned it to go,” he told The Bolton News. “I have never wanted to be one of those managers who hops about from job to job, I wanted to find a club where I could get on a journey with them.

“Honestly, Bolton was almost too good to be true. That a club with its size and history would find itself in League Two and want me, I mean, I had played against them in the Premier League not that long ago. It was unbelievable for me to have the opportunity, it was a huge honour.

“Yes, it was a basket case. But I vividly remember the first conversation I had with Sharon, it was about half an hour long, and from that moment on there wasn’t a doubt in my mind that this was the place I wanted to be, this is the journey I wanted to go on, and she was the owner I wanted to work for."

Great news the journey continues and we are all part of it .

To think we could be playing in the Championship is a remarkable turnaround. What a football club this is.

Queens Park were actually winning th league 20 minutes in to the game and ended up finishing third. Mad division.

Get the job done IE

That made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside

Not sure it warrants it's own thread so I'll stick it here for any non attendance data nonces

Quite interesting.

Some good work being done on set-pieces.

“I can’t say exactly what we are doing but I can say it is simple for the players to understand and it has been important that we work with them on delivery because that is the most important part of a set play. It is no good working a block, someone free, or someone winning a one-v-one if the ball is put into the wrong space.“

Sounds like he’s taken on board the crowd advice of - “gerrit in the box and beat the first fuckin man”

Not like IE to be having a little wager 👀

only the 600 odd passes vs Cheltenham as opposed to the 700+ in the first couple games. But this is looking like the brand Evatt I dreamed of

Now Twitter has turned to x.com, Twitter links don’t seem to embed anymore. Cheers @elonmusk

I noticed that too - that’s a shame embedded tweets have been good to post/view on here. No way around it @Zico?

I was trying to do this one above.

Funny reaction from the players after the 2nd goal - giving the pay up sign after scoring from a set-piece

ok, looks like you have to remove the URL parameters - i.e. the question mark and everything after it

As Zico said, just delete the "?" and everything after it.

Thanks @Zico and @Cheese

tried that but still doesn’t work for me. Not sure if I’m being thick.

I tried amending the hyperlink too. And waited for like 5-10 seconds after pasting to give it time to work.

Tried with different links

https://x.com/burndenaces/status/1691026887261229056

tried pasting into my notes app, deleting the url parameters and then pasting to here - which did give me the “pasted as rich text - paste as plain text instead?” Which is what usually shows up when I post Twitter links. I know to not change it to plain text though.

not sure if I’m encountering problems doing it from my phone as opposed to a laptop or if I’m just doing something silly

im Sure I’ll figure it out eventually 😆
