Yes a stupid 2 goals conceded there

But post Huddersfield you’ve got to give the players and Evatt a massive amount of credit. I know there’s bigger challenges to come, but you couldn’t have asked for much more than 3 wins 11 goals and 4 conceded.

I was one of the many critics and doubters after that disastrous start and I’m still not won over. But it’s put a few myths to bed, mainly that these players are improving, they are together and they are playing for their manager.

Let’s keep it going 👏👏

Got to beat play a decent team till we know whether anything has changed versus last season.

We're in the middle of a very easy run against teams we're expected to beat. The run from Birmingham into November will be the test for Evatt.

True, but be nice to build a bit of confidence leading up to Brum.

Which is why I said bigger challenges to come and I’m yet to be won over

Edited because that sounds far too negative tonight!

Let’s live in the moment, I don’t think anyone would have predicted that positive response, so no harm in believing that we have turned a corner.

Next 2 home (leagues) games will be an interesting challenge. Different type of pressure vs two tricky away games.

Back to trying to break down 11 man defences.

Yeah I heard a rumour from quite an ITK source that he ordered Sheehan to hit the first defender on every corner during his time here.

Joking aside, the one at Crawley was lovely

The fixtures have fell kindly after Huddersfield and it’s given us time to regroup and start a run, yes in the past we’ve struggled against the top 6 sides so hopefully brum hasn’t come too soon

its improving game on game the goals are coming we just need to tighten at the back

Schön has a good delivery and means Sheehan isn't taking every corner

Agreed.   In fact schon has been a different player since THAT game,   some on the job learning, his positioning and defending had come on a treat, been very impressed with the lad plus was good to see george talking him through stuff last night.

He had shown signs before that he was decent, but the formation was asking far to much of him, and others. With 3 in the middle he has more protection defensively, and cover when getting forwards.

Always takes players time to settle at a new club, especially when they have moved from abroad for the first time. He is improving game by game and think there is more to come.

He played a couple of cutbacks yesterday which were low and accurate and could/should have resulted in goals.

I absolutely love the man. Love his passion for us, and while Allardyce brought the best times, there’s not another manager in my lifetime I’ve preferred having in charge of my club.

Completely get that not everyone is of this opinion. Personally, I’ll be gutted when he’s no longer in charge.

Evatt is still a long way behind where i want the club heading when it comes to how we play. Saying that i have been more on board especially the last couple of games where we have cut that Baxter, Santos, Sheehan slow ball out.

Never been impressed with how we play with wing backs but Cogley is steady and i think Desmond would be a step-up if we can get him fit.

Schon is the one that is starting to impress, unfairly i had a dig at him on here and called him the modern Steve McAnespie

A little cruel he is way better than that.

We are not  yet where we want to be but at least we have a chance of getting there.

I wont judge Evatt on the Birmingham game but we need 6 points these next 2 games..........Villa U21 let us see some key players rested play a couple of the B team with the likes of Williams,Llolos and anyone else on the verge of coming back

Good post.

Posted in the other thread about Schon, could be a big player for us this season.

Good to see that while acknowledging there’s bigger tests ahead, you won’t hang out Evatt to dry on one result against Birmingham.

And I agree with the approach we need to take against Villa 21s. Midfield and up front we can rotate, we may not have that luxury at the back. It would be nice if we could get some academy lads in to rest a couple of CBs

I won't be in floods of tears if we don't get a result at Brum. The whole month of November is the true barometer of where we are at.

Stockport away, Blackpool Home and Wigan away. Chickens and Roosting time that.

One step at a time.

Yes big month and at the end will give us an idea where we’re at

Interesting that one of the goals came from a ball of defence, fairly short to Sheehan- watch the highlights.

The latter however was in loads if space though, with enough time for a brew.

That's where he can do the damage, as we know. We also know he won't get that much freedom too often.

Good then to mix the play up.
