Assuming Bolty’s calmed down I’d love to know how he would actually stop the Arab v Jew conflict, without just shooting all the Muslims. Peace might never be possible of course, but do any of us really believe persecution of either side will ever work, when all are brainwashed by religion?

I don’t want this/my/our country turning into a location for a proxy war. Migration has already happened.  We’re not going back to a monochrome nation. I value a vibrant tolerant multicultural society.

Assuming everyone wants this, and no one supports ethnic cleansing on these shores then how do we get there - address the fundamental problem - the middle east. Which brings us back to a two state solution. The need for Hamas and Islamic fundamentalism then has to go away.

So, recognising Palestine did not cause yesterday’s atrocity - imho it’s actually a positive step to try and prevent more yesterdays in the future.

I was unsure initially, but having listened to many a commentator, I am now firmly of the belief that it has, though I don't think that it was the intention. 

Hamas immediately commented on it, and welcomed it. That will embolden them.
