  1. I haven't read that, just saw him on Sky last night. He can't be that much of a red ginger if he's, in effect, prasing Bolton - one of the few writers that do!! Whenever I've seen him on that Jimmy Hill Sunday supplement thing, he always seems fair. Can't win with some people - hate us, you're a red ginger..praise us and give us good, national & international coverage, you're a...
  2. Brian Woolnough, Chief Football Writer for The Star, was on Sky News last night talking about the Beckham situation. He said that there's no way Becks should go to the US or Japan, and that most big Prem clubs wouldn't want him, therefore he should go to Bolton. Reckons Big Sam would be the ideal manager to give him the opportunity to prove people wrong, to finish his career on a high in the Prem. Can't see it happenin' meself, don't know whether I would want it to happen, but it just shows how far we've come as a club if respected football writers (I know he writes for The Star, but I think he's a pretty fair and sound bloke) suggest a player of Beckhams standing should go to Bolton without so much as a snigger.
  3. Thanks a lot for that, really appreciated.
  4. Cheers Widnes. Will they put a name on the back of the shirt though?
  5. Right chaps and chapesses, I'm back in Bolton for a few days over xmas and I want to buy my 5 yr old nephew (indoctrinate him early!!) a Bolton top with his name on the back. I've not been shopping for anything in Bolton for donkeys years, so, where's the best place (apart from at the Reebok) to get one? There used to be a Bolton shop on Bradshawgate...is it still there? Any help appreciated

Just got 167,900....still in 5th but we've got a chance God I'm bored!!
  7. I won't be there... no buses to Ewood from South of France. Watching it live though on TPS, so I'll be there in spirit. Have fun all....
  8. League has started again this morning. Not doing too well!!
  9. Had a couple of collapsed lungs in my time....they bloody hurt don't they!! I was seen fine at Bolton General when I had my ops - no complaints!!
  10. Absolutely stunned to be honest....hasn't said as yet how much they cost but must be a fair bit!!
  11. Your general IQ score is 156. A person whose IQ score falls in the range of 144-160 is considered to be "gifted". Pissed it....and I went to school in Athy!!!
  12. From the second photo, I would say Nigel kennedy, Villa fan and virtuoso violinist!!
  13. Sunderland have done pretty well to keep this under wraps....whoever the manager is!!? On the Mackem's Rivals board, they've got absolutely no clue who it'll be. Normally you get a reasonable idea before they're actually named!! If it's Big Sam, I'll wear a Paris St Germain shirt and sit in the Marseille home end shouting "I hate North Africa"!!
  14. Cheap shot....nasty b*stard!! Thumbs up from me though for your comment!!
  15. ??1,100 sound a bit steep - I moved house in February and was charged about ??400 as a seller. Maxwell Hodge Solicitors, near Southport I think. Everything can be done by post/fax (I lived in Brum). 01704 577171 Hope this helps.

    Saint
  17. Surely Sam knew that Tristan may be available. If not, what have him and his scouts been doing....obviously not reading the papers or WanderersWays
  18. You, and many like you, are not really wanted by BWFC fans. Have a moan by all means, but don't back up your argument with a declaration that you won't be going, it makes you sound like a snivelling child. You've had your moan, now fcuk off and tell the other whining tw*ts in the beer garden about it. No doubt you'll be whinging about the attendence too come the 26th.......... how ironic. Football has lost its appeal for me and many others. It will never be like it was and theres no point pretending. Sit there, do that, dont swear and pay top dollar. No thanks. Corporate greed, agents fees, lack of atmosphere, prices and kick off times have all contributed. The money is all leaving the game. I've been there done that and got the T-Shirt and have absolutely nothing to prove to anyone. I will go to the games i want on my terms nobody elses. Do people honestly beleive that their ??500 season ticket makes any difference. It will not even pay for an hour of Dioufs salary. C'mon lets get real. If i really want a ticket i will get some easily enough anyway. Not exactly Real Madrid is it? In saying all this i bet i still attend more away games in this coming season than some on here will. Rant over. Not too difficult, seeing as Bolty's in Oz and I'm in France!! #-o
  19. You're getting there Traf and all are valid points; it's based upon both what's written contractually and what actually happens - how the work is carried out. Without wanting to get off track too much, IR35 is highly flawed and contracts that are exactly the same have been proven to come out of the system with positive and negative results. There is a difference between working for yourself as a small Ltd company and actually being "self employed". IR piggin 35 has taken over my bleedin' life - I have to look at these contracts every fookin day! Back to the original point, I'm presuming that the footballer having played 75% of internationals is supposed to prove they have spoecialist skills - perhaps akin to the HSMP visa? These days, any solicitor worth his/her salt can get round IR35. It was primarily set up to focus on contractors and issues around NI contributions, but it hasn't had the desired effect. The Inland Revenue will be jumping all over this in the next few years! :-$ Taking dividends as your primary source of income is fine, as long as you pay yourself minimum wage taxed at source. 21. It's also in Eidur's best interests to "assist" one of the other forwards in finding a new club....less competition for him.... well, a bit less anyway!!
  22. Available on a free due to Hi-De-Hi being discontinued on the BBC!
  23. how long can they go on only competing for the the third biggest trophy and still pack out old trafford every week. Unfortunately probably for a long bloody time!! #-o
  24. Have to agree - showing promise but needs to provide more variety on the subject matter. C+
