  1. Sorry Mounts but LH is Salford beyond a shadow of doubt There's a smattering of 'original' Little Hulton families from the pit village days who could claim an allegiance to Bolton But the vast majority are post-war overspill with technically no links to Bolton at all However I suspect I've bitten as, from your previous posts on the matter, you know all this full well!
  2. Funny isn't it These clubs, Chelsea, Blackburn before them, it's almost like they can't handle success Anyone could have told Chelsea that f?cking Mourinho over was foolish in the extreme... First guy to win the title for them in 50 years, but they think they can get any old knobber in and lift it every year, that easy It doesn't work like that
  3. I was in a simialr-ish position lately Anyhow, a lot of what Sluffy said was said to me by the trading standards people All the bit about 'rejecting' the goods etc Call them - you can google the number - they will give you some advice They won't discuss warranties as they are not 'the law' But if you pursue the warranty bit you kinda give up the sale of goods act stuff... that's what they told me You'd do well to call them
  4. The problem is if you don't beat the bottom teams regularly you are gonna be in sh?t Writing off 25-30% of the games is a joke
  5. What in God's name are you on about? We got pasted, thoroughly pasted, did you expect everyone to be singing his praises? All this guff about how big a club we are is beside the point, and the 'you lot couldn't wait for us to lose' bit is just nonsense I've barely seen anyone say he should be sacked I think you are becoming a little bit obsessed
  6. Truly brilliant series, had been recommended to me by folk for years and I finally watched it all last year... so, so much better than I thought it would be Nowt much catches my attention lately though It's Always sunny in Philadelphia and Arrested Development the latest ones I've been into
  7. Guessing a little bit but I think they showed a caption with 20 games, 8 goals, 6 assists on it before My memory is sh?t though
  8. There's no maybe about it Just kidding... but did you find what Ross/Brand did funny? (I won't say Clarkson cos that wasn't necessarily meant to get laughs) That's all I'm saying ... it's actually not funny
  9. Aye - thing is Davies is a cracking target man I don't think we've functioned as well since Anelka signed and Davies moved wide Why are we signing crap target men, and not wide players with Davies back up front?
  10. Have to say I disagree Widnes What Jonathan Ross and now Clarkson did wasn't funny, witty etc It was just being rude to / bullying innocent parties in a desperate attempt for laughs ... the Ross one was pretty cringeworthy actually I like comedy and by no means do I only like 'safe' comedy but there was no hint of satire, intelligence, or basically humour in either incident All three protagonists suffer from a bloated sense of self importance Cunts to a man
  11. I'm on the fence about Megson But (touch wood) we have been winning enough 'winnable' games It's the tougher games we are capitulating in I think it comes down to survival mentality - which was fine when he came in, still is now I guess, but sooner or later needs to change
  12. Bottom line is Basham should have played in midfield As soon as I heard the team I thought 'oh dear, what's gone on there' I hate it when managers make these kind of mistakes I can understand he didn't want too much inexperience on the pitch but O'Brien has been making mistakes at CB and putting him to full back was just stupid What really gets me is that we are such pushovers away to the top half dozen sides, I think we just sit back WAY too much in these games
  13. I'm no film buff and tend to find them disappointing But Godfather 1 and 2 are excellent, particularly 2 Apocalypse now and taxi driver are good films too but the first 2 Godfather films are must see IMO
  14. I agree Garrp, she is hot hot hot Age... I'd guess 28
  15. hehe that's funny He's a c?nt And free speech comes with responsibilty, calling people names and generally being a tw?t is not the principle behind it
  16. Explained it to my missus and she instantly said 'someone did that on purpose didn't they' Fuck?ng hilarious either way, I can just imagine the Liverpool fans when it cut back to the goal celebrations
  17. He's probably right Anelka wasn't right for us in the end, similar scenario I guess He really ought to let someone do the talking for him though, he gives off such bad vibes with his choice of words
  18. The Cameroon one was great. That world cup was fantastic, probably because I was 16 and fully able to appreciate it for the first time It's the kind of tackle any man would be proud of... "look at this Argie, evading reckless foul after reckless foul... only one thing for it" No way he was missing with that one, it's almost like he thought he was playing a different sport for a split second, MMA perhaps The boot coming off was the icing on the cake
  19. Yep. They put in a hell of an effort there and their whole game is based on pressure and workrate. We could take them to the cleaners if we get at them early, and we often do that...
  20. Definitely She has previous warnings for God-bothering around patients Fucking ridiculous way to carry on That said I don't really trust strongly religious people of any form, faith is dangerous stuff in the wrong hands She deserves no sympathy for trying to push religion on people, like someone said on the radio it's no different to hawking tupperware to her patients
  21. Hehe, cunning bast?rd, I might try that at 5-a-side this week
  22. The Gerrard tackle was dodgy, should have been a yellow IMO, with a stern warning The Lampard one I can forgive Riley for, clearly was not a red or even a foul but if he saw it at the wrong moment / angle it could have looked a shocker, over the top of the ball tackle The Bosingwa one was farcical, just farcical Some of these refs/linesmen just seem paralysed by fear. And Riley doesn't seem the type of guy to be among the best in the country at anything, let alone involved in high level sport.
  23. Funny that All my lasses do say that about me Surely 30 of em can't be wrong?
  24. Yeah hopefully Blackburn will prove to be a watershed End of the day it's 4 points from 2 games, it's a good return. And though it's far far far too early to go overboard about it his signings seem to have been decent again this window
  25. Oh it does. Makelele and Zidane in the French team were both great players but did very, very different jobs. The era of midfielders that do a bit of everything has probably passed. We need one to open up defences and get their foot on the ball - not one to stop the opposition.
