Didledee Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 A truly wonderful performance and it could easily have 8-1 or so, referee was abysmal too, should have had a penalty when Dempsey's shot was blocked with a hand and he didn't send at least 2 of their players off for awful tackles. It was so one sided, the football at times was electric, the 2nd goal was a thing of beauty, glorious football. Quote
L/H White Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 I was a bit unsure I seen, Sheehan & Kachunga both starting But, that's our best performance of the season on the biggest stage What a day Champions Quote

I suspected Jerome would start, but he gave Kachunga a confidence boost and he repaid it. Also good that the injured players came back and got a cameo. Unfortunately Toal wearing a protective boot afterwards, but hopefully it won't be too bad, and Johnston back is a big bonus. Edited April 2, 2023 by Tonge moor green jacket Quote

waffer cup 07 Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 Surprised at the starting 11. But credit Evatt, he got it spot on again. Quote

barrycowdrill Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 That midfield of Sheehan lying deep controlling the ball and Morley and Demps with his energy to get beyond the front 2 was a master stroke Quote

stevieb Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 Today is what it's all about. Absolutely overwhelmed with emotion at that win. No way would I say I'd have been arsed about winning the papa fucking John's at the start of the season. Winning a cup final at Wembley. 79k fans Absolute class football start to finish Seeing your mates you go week in and week out with and bumping into the people you know from the match. Recognising faces you've never spoke to but know they are whites. I fucking love it. Quote

barrycowdrill Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 They’ve had a result like that coming off us this season. Been the better side in all 3 against them. learn how to take more points on tight shitty pitches and we’re on to a winner Quote
Dr. Feelgood Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 Great performance. Weird feeling having no tension. Ref. clearly wanted to let things play on, which I like, but I think with us 3 & 4 up reluctant to flash a red card. Two should have gone, but especially for the second foul, on Toal, which was poor. Well done Whites Quote
waffer cup 07 Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 Said it before, on our day best footballing side in League 1, by a mile. Quote
Arrested development Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 That pitch suited us to a T. They couldn't live with us. That second goal was a great team move. What a day. Loved every minute. What a fucking club. Quote

I'm sure both teams wanted to win. They may have suffered a bit of stage fright, and our early goal would have given us a boost. We were just much better on the day. Quote
