I’m going to sound like a proper bedwetter here, but if we end up 0 from 6 from home games against Accrington and Fleetwood then we don’t deserve the play offs. Hoping for a Wembley performance but in reality I expect a 1-0 win.

I imagine the vast majority are in the same boat. Hoping we can steer ourselves over the line and get a couple of extra bodies back for the playoffs.

Football is just unpredictable, I certainly wouldn't of predicted us to have beaten Peterborough away 5-0 and Plymouth at Wembley 4-0, but lost at home to Accrington.

Who knows what will happen!

That’s exactly my take LW. Results can be anything at this time of the season so just as we slipped up against Accy and could also against the Cods, so just as easily could Posh and Derby. No game is easy at this time of the season when nerves play a part for both team and fans.

For the old gimmers amongst us didn't we suffer home defeats in the run ins of 76 and 77 that ultimately cost us?  York and Carlise(?) both got relegated I think but won at Burnden late in the season.

Yes thats correct. Nailed on to go up but we fuck up massively  against bottom teams.

Who was to blame then? Ian Greaves? Whatmore/Jones for not finishing teams off? Reid/Thompson for not creating enough? Or McDonagh, Walsh and Allarydyce for not being good enough to keep them out? 
 

Surely there was somebody to blame and call out for not being good enough?

It's strange because discounting the away end, the home ends all come up to roughly 23.5k. 

Looking at the stadium map now it certainly doesn't look like there's over 4,000+ available

Think it was just a general shitness from most of the team desp! Pressure on, and lack of confidence where big issues. Also the managers then different have the luxury of 5 subs, so very difficult for any manager then to get the one sub right.

Anybody concerned that Lee hasn’t been playing. If he’s back from his injury surely he should have played a part on Tuesday? Is Evatt trying to keep him back for the play offs if he’s not an absolutely 100% or since his contracts up is he trying not to get him injured for him to leave? Who knows but for me if he’s fit he’d start every game.

Winning that game at Crawley was one of the best feelings I've had as a BW fan.  The relief of getting out of that shit league is still with me.  I know he left on bad terms and he's a bit of a tool, but I'll always be grateful to Sarcevic for grabbing that game by the scruff of the neck.  Trying to get in the play offs this season doesn't come close to the importance of that Crawley game for me, we're back on the football map whatever happens in the next 2 games.

That’s football. So many disappointments at critical times in the season have cost us over the years but with hindsight, we always prevailed. The 76 and 77 seasons were obviously followed by promotion in 78. I’ve always said that season on season progress will only result in one result, promotion. Whether it’s this year or next, history shows we will eventually go up.

I'm in the Lee camp too, but whereas he would have been 1st name in my midfield 2 months ago, I think that shirt now goes to Dempsey.   Simply for his non stop box to box play and battling, Lee for all his qualities a bit more pedestrian.  But its a head scratcher that he isn't getting more opportunities either from the bench or starting, compared to the opportunites Morley and Shoretire have had.

3 games in a week though and the first two were a tough watch for the uncommitted.

I upgraded a child ticket to adult for this and it was £24 - no problem with that, but I asked out of curiosity how much the ticket would have been, and it was £29.  That seems a lot for a game v Fleetwood, its not like there will be many away fans that we can take advantage of.

Any spares in the East Stand Lower for tomorrow?

 Certainly remember the York game it was a disaster at the time 1-2 I think .Carlisle home defeat was the season after we lost 3-4 on a waterlogged pitch again shooting ourselves in the foot in consecutive seasons , although it was not quite at the end of the season.
