Tombwfc Posted October 15, 2025 Posted October 15, 2025 Don't really know why but I have a feeling he'll charm an owner somewhere and randomly end up at a decent-ish gig. Sheff Weds for example. Then be hated by the fans immediately and potted. Wonder if SS lost his job here Sharon would be tempted. Quote

She stuck with him to & beyond the end. She didn't want to lose him but eventually her colleagues made it happen. Once gone she'll have learnt, & accepted, more. The fans haven't kicked back at all. Even the ones who stuck with him ... & they had dwindled, have ever complained. The shambles he left is still holding us back. You'd only need to ask "McAtee, Randall ... close to £2.25m ... what the actual fck ??". Quote

I'd forgotten where Dan was, he got a contract at St Mirren, made 4 sub appearances so far. Quote
gonzo Posted October 16, 2025 Posted October 16, 2025 Weve still got Vic to come back. Be a like a new signing ready for our promotion push/relegation dogfight. Quote

If it's right that the other directors forced him out, then he won't be coming back But there's every possibility she'd personally look at our results since and think the problem wasn't him Quote

gonzo Posted October 17, 2025 Posted October 17, 2025 Evatt interviewed at Blackpool today and bought his A game apparently... Really impressed. Quote

Tombwfc Posted October 18, 2025 Posted October 18, 2025 It might make people panic about how many away tickets we sell, but I'd love it if Evatt was in charge at Blackpool when they came here. Atmosphere would be electric. Quote

Nah they will start picking up points from teams in the bottom half playing sideways and backwards, then spaf all the big games that matter. Quote

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I reckon he'll do well wherever he ends up. On the whole, he was very good for us until the Oxford debacle, and you've got to assume he's learned a few lessons from it all. Edited October 18, 2025 by Cheese Quote

We had 3.5-4 very good years under him but the last 6 months unfortunately sour a lot of what went before. No doubt he needs to mage his private life better and not let it seep into his professional life. And despite the success, I never felt like he fully created a bond with the fans. Could just be his nature, but Blackpool may give him a better start point in that regard. He was largely liked by the staff at Bolton, and I think he’s hungrier to succeed than many managers. Possibly an over thinker, definitely stubborn and occasionally arrogant. He’d fit in well on here 🤣. I want it to work out for him wherever he ends up. Quote

Has he though, I’m not sure egotists like Evatt ever learn from their mistakes because they don’t believe they’ve made any?He didn’t learn in 3 years before Oxford when everyone told him we needed a Plan B and even after Oxford he still wouldn’t have it. He wouldn’t do any better at Blackpool for me than he did here because Leopards don’t change their spots and Evatt would still believe he knows it all and resist signing any players who might know better and that could actually help him. If anything, he lost the plot and tinkered too much after Oxford. Let's not re-write history. Edited October 18, 2025 by Cheese Quote

bolton va va Posted October 18, 2025 Posted October 18, 2025 Mixed feelings for me.......overall Evatt did a good job for us & I wish him well, but I don't want B/pool to do well. I'd prefer it if he didn't get the B/pool job ( or anyone in our division ) Quote

More professional relationship with the owner will probably keep him from entering the car crash last year he had with us, so I tend to agree he'll do well there. However I would enjoy seeing him take over Blackpool and get them relegated Quote

Dr. Feelgood Posted October 18, 2025 Posted October 18, 2025 39 days. They sacked a perfectly competent guy to bring him in. Now Sean Dyche is the favourite. Quote
