Other than the fact they are on their high horse because an Algerian immigrant stabbed a child.

High horse…. They’ve attacked innocent people, the police & set fire to property.

We don’t even know the full picture, yet we’ve had two posters sympathise with the protesters.

because he was Algerian… fckn hell

I’m sure this is just what the police & families needed in the immediate aftermath.

I wasn’t condoning the riots, just questioning the rationale in the comparison made between an  immigrant who’s stabbed a child and the fact the Irish have emigrated to all corners of the globe.

I'm finding this very confusing as an lapsed Catholic Englisman of Irish descent.

Every time I see Wanderers fans getting all Rangers I just want to break into 'Walking in McGinlay wonderland'

This lot must be descendents of the mob that went a bit Nazi during ww2 - my enemy's enemy is my friend can often end in tears.

This is complete horseshit (dropped by horses running through council estates tended by men with eyebrows on their cheeks).

Was another immigrant who took him out apparently.

An American according to the lady on the report.

Not sure what the status of the "defender" has anything to do with the situation. Muslim, Jew or whatever.

Simple fact remains that mass migration, particularly of Muslims, is leading to severe problems all over the western world. Plenty of stabbings etc.

Folk can moralise, and try to draw equivalence, but that completely misses the point. If such stabbings weren't being repeated all over, then the inevitable backlashes wouldn't happen.

It was patently obvious that this would happen eventually and only now are there signs that political figures are waking up from their ideological slumber.

Police officers immediately shifting focus and labelling everyone as far right won't help.

Any such event will always attract opportunists and all sorts of folk looking for a bit of kick-off, but if senior figures then are seen to be shifting focus from the underlying issue, then they run the risk of simply fanning the flames.

Always crosses my mind that it must be awfully sad when parents soon see sympathy as a hijacking.

Think I mentioned earlier to fatolive. Don’t think anyone is taking this as a slant on the Irish pal. It could of happened anywhere and often does.

No probs chief I certainly don't consider myself Irish. I'm making the point that Irish people today are as responsible for their ancestors emigrating in previous generations as British folk for their ancestors being colonialists - ie they are not.

Some Irish might even argue that its the British that are responsible for Irish emigration during the famine. But if they can afford to emigrate, they can afford to eat in a modest restaurant.

Agree on the responsibility of ancestors. Always have done. Find it odd anyone has to apologise for something before they were even born.

As someone who doesn’t think immigration is a bad thing I don’t think it’s a defensive point and it’s empowered a lot of people to go and have better lives.

The report gives no details of the attacker.

That said, if an immigrant has done it, then maybe there is reason for climbing on the horse. Wouldn't be the first time in western nations.

Let's just keep it in perspective. Nothing to do with terrorism, asylum seekers or inability to assimilate.

Mental problems for certain. It always is these days. They are saying "you can't handle the truth".

Everything is the fault of 'far right' protestors. An easier target/deflection technique.

To go and firebomb cars and hostels. A huge number and something effecting me personably. Attacking people who have nothing to do with what’s gone on. Miserable stuff it’s deemed ok for me.

Right then, where shall we start? You want a few hundred examples? Bataclan, London Bridge, Lee Rigby, 7/7, Madrid train bombing, 9/11, Bali bombings, Sharm El Sheik, Boston Marathon, Parramatta................fuck it, I'll be here all night.

I'll give you a prize if you can spot the common denominator. Like Walshaw Wahid, you just don't want to see the truth.

Fantastic point, young man

Is it fuck. It's idiotic. As far as I can see, Irish immigrants went to places they could assimilate easily.

You and Wahid can, however, enlighten me as to how many migrated to Islamic states.

Which one of us is Wahid? 😂

Yeah they smoothed in really well to New York in the 19th and early 20th centuries. No stabbings at all.

Just doesn’t fit the narrative.
