Traf
Not sure where to put this, so started a new thread. Plenty on here moan when tickets are higher than £25 for an away game, but I've just noticed that we're charging Barnsley fans £30!
Site Supporter Biggish Dave Posted January 19 Site Supporter Share Posted January 19 Tough shit when it's the other way around isn't it. Ticket prices don't bother me, I decide whether I'll go by looking at the enjoyment I get etc. We are hopefully on a promotion run in. If things carry on like they are, I'd pay £50 for every away this season. If we were mid table and no chance of going up or down, I'd barely go for free

Site Supporter superjohnmcginlay Posted January 19 Site Supporter Share Posted January 19 Hadn’t really thought about prices too much having a season ticket, but wanted a few family members to come along to see Junior walk out last week, and was the only tickets left were Upper tier and they were 30 quid a pop for adults, Thought that was really expensive. Not many other candidates really once you take Wigan, Blackpool and Derby out of the equation and no home game on Boxing Day. I don’t think anyone can argue against £30 being too much for this level of football, but in relative terms they’re getting a much better view and facilities than plenty of the places that are £26ish. And we’re more than looked after both with season ticket prices and then community days and the like.
radcliffe white
Paying £30 tomorrow as Matt says compare to what Barnsley are getting view etc like I said other week if we go up folk are in for a shock for away prices and I think our prices will jump a fair bit
Site Supporter desperado Posted January 19 Site Supporter Share Posted January 19 £30 tickets are too high It may well be perception (as I understand the argument that £5 difference is 1 less pint), but it forms part of the package that’s a football day out. When you take the family and every ticket is £5 overpriced it mounts up. When cost of living and inflation are hitting families hard, it’s a real kick in the teeth to see high ticket prices. Absolutely, rail fares on the rise soon it’s not a cheap thing
freds dad
It’s £25 plus a £5 Lancashire charge for the privilege of coming over the hill.
Stig
Everything is too expensive on the football day out, but the ticket itself generally isn't too bad, even at £30. Transport cost is the real joke, something seriously wrong with trains that car travel is almost always cheaper, especially if there's 2 of you. Slightly off topic, but after last year's limit they imposed on away fans in the play offs I'd only offer them whatever they guarantee to offer us for the return fixture. The Carlisle situation has really annoyed me, massive day out for them, and would rather leave seats empty than reciprocate.

captainmed
Ticket prices don’t come into it for me, because the difference is almost always less than the price of a pint. Its about the social experience that an away game will give me. For example I’m out for Northampton. Horrible town with a lego ground, no fans and a pain in the ass from the town centre. We need to get up to improve that experience.
Big E
You can’t justify it. Better view comments are banter. I have a season ticket purely because I just wouldn’t pay what we charge for a game. Not worth it at all no matter how you dress it up. luckily a lot on here don’t have to worry about the cost etc but in reality that small change for a family could be the tipping point. Moderators Casino Posted January 19 Moderators Share Posted January 19 Meds right, finally Tomorrow, broken into 3, match ticket is the cheapest bit However, thats an away game I think a family trying to get into it, is going to struggle with home games But we have the cheapo community games i dunno, its not easy

Tbf the play off ticket thing is an EFL rule rather than dictated by the clubs themselves. 2 minutes ago, Casino said: Meds right, finally Tomorrow, broken into 3, match ticket is the cheapest bit However, thats an away game I think a family trying to get into it, is going to struggle with home games But we have the cheapo community games i dunno, its not easy And that’s the key. Get them in on a few of those and translate them to season ticket holders and they won’t even know the difference. In reality, we only do 3,000 matchday tickets even on a good day so it’s a fairly negligible difference now that the focus is (rightly) on generating season ticket sales. Traf
I'm not saying I wouldn't pay £30, I was highlighting the fact that we're as bad as other clubs in this shit league for doing it.
