Thought Bod was caught in no man’s land for the 2nd, him and Dempsey got caught out which lead to the cross

Think that was my point though, how do we end up with no right sided defender defending our right side.

Sure we went 11 games without conceding earlier in the season, sort the defence out the rest takes care of itself

Best run of not conceding was 5 - away at Charlton, Shrewsbury, Oxford and home to Blackpool and Exeter.

That's the curse of bringing 11 back to defend.  1, they can attack in greater numbers, 2 they aren't concerned about a counter attack and 3 they can expose a striker completely out of position.  Dire tactics.

I just think that were a great team at this level, but we are probably the worse in the league for shithousery and we are a soft touch.

Referees are virtually always more lenient to other teams, we get a red card in most games and penalties against us as well.

When was the last time we had a penalty? It cant all just be a coincidence, there is something other teams do that we don't.

Shithousery also translates to stopping the opposition and making it difficult for them. Like somebody mentioned, their first goal, somebody has to stand on the free kick taker, that's Sunday league knowledge that come on.

Massively worried at the defence at the minute, the amount of poor goals we have conceded. You could make a case for every goal we have conceded since the Barnsley game.

Barnsley, switched off from throw in. Northampton switched off from free kick. Wycombe, howler from Coleman conceding a penalty. Charlton, 3 howlers. Cambridge own goal. And now today.

So so many poor goals conceded. We've got a lot of games against top 8 opposition remaining, we cannot continue to concede goals like we have been doing, or we will see more results like today.

Well its not a great day to be a Whites fan, we can all agree on that.

On a positive note, some good posts on here tonight and very few of the sarcastic/disrespectful posts we often get, especially after a defeat when sometimes its hard to have a reasoned discussion.

Nobody has to agree with other's point of view and we can certainly disagree on ref's decisions or his influence on the results, its just refreshing to have an adult discussion where all opinions are tolerated (so far, I'll quit while we're ahead).

Would be one of the last to say Evatt is maybe not for us but getting the feeling that if we fail to go up this year then maybe this job is too big for him, hope I'm wrong but this was our year, the crowd is back, the feeling is right its ours to f**k up and we are the masters at it.

So unfortunately i think no up no Evatt🤷

Back home, well oiled and as shit as it was today, I always want to end on a positive....

Maybe it was because of my inebriated state but, as ever, felt real love at the end with the rendition of "we love you Bolton" when the lads came over. Only wish it was a full stand. I can understand folk walking out early with the frustration of today, but always stay til the end, and that just ended the day with a real feeling of togetherness despite the result. For me anyway.

Fuck the ref, fuck the tangerine c*nts claiming it was our big day out despite them celebrating like they'd won the Cup and fuck the backwards Wigan bastards on Tuesday.

It must be hard to know how to word it without 1. appearing to be a whingey excuse-maker 2. saying something that gets you in trouble and makes you and the club even more disliked.

But saying nothing would be almost giving licence to such biased refereeing.

Just catching up, but this is the problem with Evatt's constant ref whinging. He can't come out today and make a valid point about the ref being terrible as he does it too often to be taken seriously.

Tbh though, blaming the ref is just a sign of our mental weakness. We were 1 nil up and should have managed that game better.

Listening to evatts interview after the game, feels a bit like circling the wagons, no real mention of the ref. Apologies to the fans, says we will just have to go and win promotion. Can’t say I’ve heard him mention the p word like that before. Means nothing if we don’t win on Tuesday.

Do you not think that we make it easy though ? It seems we're easy to wind up, and once the blue touch paper is lit we go to self destruct. We are so gullible and don't learn. GT will carry on getting booked for nowt, Santos will keep getting booked or sent off for being a clumsy fucker and letting forwards bounce off him.

We make it easy for shit officials every week, and the opposition knows it every week.

Lots went wrong today but it’s one game and thankfully other results went our way and we lost no ground so onwards and hopefully upwards to Wigan on Tuesday. Put this behind us now and I’m sure the players are hurting as much as we are and will want to put things right. Big call for Evatt now on what team he starts but if you keep chopping and changing things it shouldn’t be surprising that there’s little or no cohesion. On Collins I’m struggling so can anybody say what he actually is in the team because I haven’t a clue?

Collins is new in the team, that's what. It looks like he needs some time to bed in, but we haven't got time.

What with injuries all over he's finding out where the deep end is very quickly. I think he'll be reet, and would be reet now but for lots of reasons.

New shit has come to light.

We saying on way over if you asked 20 Bolton fans our best team you would not get the same answer from any of them. Of course we have injuries and suspensions but the fact no one really knows our best XI is crazy.

Not sure Evatt knows his best XI, it seems a long time since we played  the same team consistently.

Is there a clip doing the rounds of Santos winning the ball? I can’t believe there’s folk saying he won the ball and it wasn’t a penalty, have the rules changed?

Spot on. Frustrating but sadly expected once friday beers wore off.

My observations.

Constant tinkering where allowed makes no sense.

We had chances. Not on IE. Felt we looked dangerous going forward and CMG looks a real addition up top.

Sheehan is class but was Blackpools best player in first half. Everything he touched led to a satsuma attack. Should of been whipped at half time.

Ref was poor but I’m trying to steer away from blaming officials. Certainly wasn’t why we lost.

What was said at HT never needs repeating. We looked useless that first 15.

Santos red should be overturned. He wins the ball and importantly he doesn’t see Joseph before he slides.

We have to start turning up for the big games. Pizza cup aside which felt like a day off we constantly fail.

Just got in. Not read the rest of the thread. But basically what he said.

On the end of some shitty decisions but we’d have lost regardless. Never looked like setting ourselves up for a win.

For Christ’s sake, make sure we win on Tuesday

There was at least some doubt?
But a red card ?
Watching it live it was not a heart in the mouth moment for me , just thought he had done well to get the ball out for a corner.

Gobsmacked with the red card , the ref was an utter cunt the whole ninety minutes , his total bias was beyond belief.

Absolutely no doubt at all. Pen all day

I'm with you on the fact it was a pen. No doubt about that as far as im concerned. But a red card? Not a chance for me.

I assume that's where the questions lie with folk. Especially given the refs performance today.

Their mon has only got involved after Santos has made a motion for the ball. No interest before that and has blatantly looked for the contact without any hope of getting near the ball. Honestly speaking I think we’d be calling for it the other way, but the whole “genuine attempt for the ball” line we’ve been fed since the 7-1 at Accrington is a crock of shit on that evidence.

Just got back home to Jesolo, rough trip back. The gondola was quaking quite aggressively as we were going over the Adriatic. Mrs Venetian had to stand starboard to try and mitigate the waves

Terrible result, terrible performance, ref shoddy too, not sure what it is with them tangerine c*nts but they really grind my gears

Nice putting faces to names. Mr grey, undies, chippytits, casino and mut good fun. Now know the identity of “Agent Mcgee” too, itk

On to Tuesday, a half arsed performance would be nice

God bless

I ended up not going and didn't watch it on dodgy TV, so can't/won't comment on the game itself.

I expected Rico back, but not a JDB/CMG frontline.

Bottom line for me is that we got what we usually get at Blackpool ie fuck all, but it has to be filed away ASAP as we need something from Tuesday. Top spot is now out of our own hands, we really could do with 6 points over the next week.

For me we’re simply having too many defensive off days for a team wanting to finish in the top 2, when you look back we’ve had some shockers and I don’t just mean defeats cruising against Orient & hanging on same at Wycombe

someone said further up maybe weak minded and considering IE was a no nonsense defender we don’t half make hard work at the back

given our position all season and having games in hand it would be crime if the century if we don’t go up, he needs to find away to get previous form back & quick

Top spot is still in our hands as 'all' we need to do is win every game and as we have Pompey to play we would finish top.

To be very clear, no fucking way is it happening however
