10am bunfight for tickets tomorrow. Long, long overdue a league win here. Could be a pivotal game in our quest for promotion.

I've played the clip, and stopped it just as the challenge is being made.

His left foot is ahead of the striker and appears to play the ball.

His right foot is being the striker so it looks a bit like a scissors job, and he ultimately brings the lad down.

Can see why it was given, but I don't think every ref would have given it.

We will appeal no doubt.

I thought if it was a genuine attempt to get the ball it's not a red card anymore ?

Is that a one game ban for Rico or 3 games?

If they appealed George's, they are definitely appealing this one.

well. thats pretty shit..

can't blame ref for that one

Just blow the bloody whistle

One of those days.

Wonder what IE will have to say about the ref?

Man sent off, chasing the game after some very shit officiating

All points to the ref

Well another bloody loss in a local derby and 4 goals against .

Thought the rule was no double punishment now for things like that. Pen and yellow card shouldn’t it?

I don't think this ref is following the rules, as a general rule.

I think he'll be biting his tongue after the other week

According to this, I reckon there is every chance it will be revoked.

We’ll beat them this half. They aren’t as strong as us. They’ll run out of steam.

Shut up Fogarty, you dick.

We can blame the ref all we want and yes he has played a major part in goings on today but really we’ve just been absolutely hopeless defensively and too many were off it today. Big shake up needed for Wednesday and definitely a place needs to be found for Forester. If the other results pan out ok then not too much damage done but frankly we were just awful today.

Is it not just a red card in its own right?

He's got both feet off the floor and goes right through the back of him

Derby losing and pompey drawing at least

That's supposed to be how it works.

Clear as day it should be rescinded

No.

"Where a player commits an offence against an opponent within their own penalty area which denies an opponent an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick, the offender is cautioned if the offence was an attempt to play the ball; in all other circumstances (e.g. holding, pulling, pushing, no possibility to play the ball etc.) the offending player must be sent off."

Surely by the rules above the ref believes Rico made no attempt for the ball, looking at the attempt I can't see how anyone would think that.

No chance that will stand..

questionable watching on replay if he didnt get the ball first..

we haven't played like a promotion chasing team regardless. Think Evatt got it wrong with the two forwards today.

He is clearly trying to play the ball, and indeed gets it.

However he also comes through him, so probably a pen. Not a sending off though.

The South Stevenson Way Whites are back and are drinking heavily.

It's the back line that have been the problem today.

They've worked out a method and done it well, and we haven't defended it at all well.

It looks to me like he knocks the Blackpool player's foot onto it

It's far from clear from what I can see anyway
