wakey Posted March 23 Share Posted March 23 No proper footie til Friday, so for the sake of summat to do thought I'd dive into some of our longest runs against other teams. Starting with the good stuff - our longest winning runs including both home and away, all competitions. Our record is 8 wins on the bounce. We've done that against 3 different teams. There's 2 further teams we've won 7 on the bounce, and a further 3 we've won 6 consecutive games. So without cheating, can anyone guess the 8 teams we've had our best winning runs against. Our longest winning run against Charlton is 5 matches, albeit we've done it on four separate occasions (Aug 65 - Nov 67, Jan 73 - Nov 76, Jan 04 - Apr 06, and Sep 21 to Oct 23). I think there's one nobody gets without cheating, so I'll give a couple of clues. 1. This is a 'current' run in that we've won our last 6 against them BUT the last one was in 1911. 2. The only way we'd play them is if they had a good run in the FA cup. 3. All our previous meetings were in the league. 4. They spent one season in the top flight - but we weren't in it that year.
