Oxford will get hammered next season,

and we'll be sat thinking, that will have been us.

We're not ready or good enough, too many points dropped this season that highlight our inconsistences.

Correct. The season wasn’t lost yesterday, it was lost against Wigan, Barnsley, Derby and a few more. Draws that should have been wins and losses that should have been draws.

We should have been home and hosed before even Pompey were.

Best part of the season that

Enjoyed it

Whether folk believe it should have happened or not, the pitch invasion isn't responsible for yesterday's performance.

I think people are more on about the players reaction not the fans on the pitch?

Yes that’s the one. Was spot on.

Absolutely knew there’d be a total meltdown on here tonight.
loads of crap about “bottle” and “being up for it” - wtf does that even mean? - other than childish catchphrases taken from has- been pundits trying to say they should have played better.

And playing better includes putting in more effort. It’s debatable whether they worked hard enough but today was about quality I.e. we didn’t have enough quality to execute OUR gameplan.

You've answered your own question there

Players suppin beers in the stand was a terrible look.

You'd be thinking "you set of cocky cunts" if you were Oxford players. It's a nice bit of fuel

But we lost yesterday because our team are a set of minges who go hiding when it matters and have done so several times this season

Watching Evatt yesterday, he rarely seemed to offer any in-game management/coaching. Pep is like a coiled spring during games, constantly shouting instructions and changes..

When asked after the match what he thought had gone wrong he said he didn’t know! Really? Why doesn’t he know.. or has he already given up?

I think the game it reminded me most of was Barnsley away in the play offs last year, but there are others too where we’ve seen us struggle against this set up. I’m surprised more sides haven’t done this against us this year, but they just let our centre halves have the ball and block off any passes out through marking / positioning, then spring a press on us when it goes forward. It leaves us slow, lethargic and absolutely devoid of any ideas.

Evatt implied after the game it was down to the players and their performance, but I feel we’ve seen us struggle so often against that tactic then it goes deeper than that.

Never really does.

Remember in the covid season when he'd first arrived. In breaks in play, opposition managers would be in the thick of it with their players. Evatt would walk round with head down and hands in pockets, not engaging in any way with any of the players. If you're a leader, surely you take every opportunity to influence your team.

Referee put his finger to his ear at the time so was presumably checked. Same with their second goal and the possibility of an offside.

The strange thing about watching a game with a VAR is for both goals I fully expected there to be a break in play whilst they checked something

More in hope yesterday than anything else

I imagine it would have been the same if we'd scored

Took Mrs NiC on our first date there. Opposite is a tiny Portuguese bar that only serves port but is also great.

Feel like a spouse who's been hurt one too many times today.

They really have no idea what we all go through.

You just have to look at Coventry 3:0 down manager changes play, players go for it and almost win 4:3 but for a toe nail being offside, we just stroll around in the sun no energy no ideas very frustrating we need more energy and a decent change of tactics when facing a team that put in a high block system

If I’m being brutally honest, going on the pitch acted as a decent short cut back to the car for me as I was in the south stand so it saved me walking all the way around the stadium.

Im taking the small victories now, because there are no others.

Too right , I detest the fucking thing but found myself silently pleading for it to be used

Perfect summary

It could be that Evatt has to go for this to change, or that we just need to sign an experienced midfield bastard and drop one of the 3 we currently have

position wise it should be Sheehan but I think he brings more to the game than GT

Magohma may not be here and he will be a big loss but if we start the season with Dempsey, GT and Sheehan we're going nowhere

God I feel deflated now. Just walked from hotel to tube through Crawley fans on their way in to Wembley. That looks like another shitty little club that we may have to endure playing next season. The whole town must be here with their horrible accent. God we need to get out of this division.

Glad to see the back of those muppets for at least 3 months now to be honest. Said before, I don’t trust any of them and yesterday was the final nail for many. No need for any soul searching from us lot. They’ve been backed all season long. It’s up to the club. The board, manager (whether that’s Evatt or not) to really get a grip of this weak mentality and weed out the ones that just aren’t up to it. There’s no room for sentiment now.

It's easy, it's like a student getting their essay from ChatGPT, sure they got the essay and maybe tweaked different parts but fundamentally they don't understand the course material. IE is a D grade student trying to recreate the work of A grade ones.

Walking out of the hotel this morning and there’s a fella walking out with his young kid and just saying how disappointed he was, even the day after. Said to him ‘know exactly what you mean. Not normal, are we?’

Sprung a greater discussion with the wife about why on earth we put ourselves through it instead of spending our time and money on wining and dining or in the gym or summat. But nothing comes close to the highs that your team give you. Nor the lows. 😔

All Crewe, aren’t we?

Really weird feeling, I’d thought about that slight doubt in your mind when you score which would make it not quite feel as amazing, but on the second goal especially I wasn’t as gutted when it went in because I thought there was a chance it was offside so it was almost like I was thinking “it’s gone in, but it might not have - let’s wait and see”. Then this weird time of just watching the ref and hoping he didn’t  blow for kick off, which he obviously did and at that point I’d kind of accepted it. Strange strange feeling and although it could have saved us, it can still fuck off.

I think I would much rather have to play Crewe than Crawley

Don’t think there is a lot of scope anyway to change much with the squad most have a couple of years on the contract . What have we got 3 out of contract and the loans returning

I’d hate to be travel back today remember Portsmouth this season just dragged like hell
