Wasn't going to come on here either, but relented and started reading posts Sunday - much more reasoned than I imagine Twitter is.  Fair play to everyone.

Been like a life-raft this week this place, spending time with fellow sufferers. Don't think I've ever spent as much time online.

We're all in it together!

I don't think on social media I've seen us everywhere by every team just absolutely smashing us all over the show.

It's actually astonishing how many clubs supporters we have rattled. Even the Oxford players singing Bolton get battered.

Maybe we're just the Millwall of the north and nobody likes us.

It really has felt that the club is at the lowest it's been at for some time, specifically with regards to the performances on the pitch mostly and without off field issues of more recent years.

Fight or flight for this team and manager now. If all of this doesn't fuel you for next season then you can walk away and get gone.

We called it on.

It pains me to say it because I absolutely detest the power and influence social media has ended up having over football and the scene surrounding it, but if the legions of online wind up merchants we've produced over the last few years, probably from the covid season onwards, can't deal with reaping what they've sowed and are going to chuck their toys out the pram anytime another club takes the piss then they're in the wrong business.

Very wierd.  If we'd just won something, even if it was against Wigan, Burnley, Blackburn or Man U, the last thing I'd be doing is trying to rub the other team's nose in it.  Never given it a thought to gloat rather than celebrate.  Pathetic from their fans and players, maybe we'll remember that for next time we play them.

This sort of thing seems to be on the increase these days,so called professional players acting like classless scrotes & disrepecting opposition clubs and fans.

Its all very Wigany

While I'm disappointed, it doesn't come close to Tranmere or Watford play off wise, Villa FA Cup wise, Stoke or Chelsea league wise or Lisbon Europe wise.

Watching a few championship games recently, we'd get a few hammerings. We're miles away from the top half teams and behind the bottom half teams.

It's not the end of world - as someone on here said a few weeks ago, we'll go up when we're ready for it, and without the need for the play offs

It's way worse than Watford imo. Perhaps time has dulled the memory but I don't recall feeling humiliation at that one and we made a bit of a game of it.

Stoke > Saturday > Man U > Wigan

Evatt was in charge for 2 of those.

Watching Crystal Palace demolish Aston Villa yesterday, they did everything we didn't. CB hitting long incisive balls. Movement up front. Balls being delivered into key areas. Mixing it up, keeper throwing it long rather than that playing it out from the back bollocks. Didn't need anyone bollocking, geeing up or pointing.

Different game when you are in form or just winning. We look brilliant on our day, what we need is the character to turn the shit days into draws, we just do not have that. If it  was once or twice per season it would not be that important but it is half a dozen times this year when we have not turned up.

At least v Watford we actually had some chances. Eidur missed 2-3 before we finally gave up the fight.

Not only was it a weak spineless performance but there’s other factors for me

putting us in the shop window for takeover/further investment would be more appealing in the championship than a club who’s failed twice in the L1 play offs

theres a good chance the hard work getting attendances up could be undone off the back of this, it’s easy getting folk in when it’s cheap & clubs doing well but if people disconnect it’s bloody hard getting back

all this said we could hit the ground running but I feel people will be reserved to start, if it’s IE he needs a bloody good start

Good to see you Saturday!

Just logged in to the therapy group for some help. First step is admitting you're struggling apparently and I have been, so thanks for listening.

Anyhow I've made it to Tuesday and it's a bank holiday next week. I can do this!

I bleated on here the other day I'd be considering not renewing having missed the deadline. What a load of bollocks. There is someone up there looking down. My other half doesn't need one next season through working most Saturdays so the uplift in missing the deadline is covered and the fun police won't have me on CCTV each game.

My mate, a filthy red, has just sent me the John Belushi line we used when the chips were down when serving together.

'Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbour?'

PS. I know it was the Japs for the history police

He did add though you'll have Burton at home Boxing Day and Crawley away first game.

Exactly this, which is what made this game so big.

We all know it only takes a couple of down years for fans to drift away.

Sure, we may have got hammered most weeks up there, but you still wouldn't turn it down.

Not angry, just disappointed 🙄

we really need to the fixture list to be kind to us

if we have an opening month that contains, wigan, blackpool, stockport & wrexham, that's got shit show wrote allover it

Or the team/manager could see it as a chance to put a marker down and get off to a flyer.

But yeah, you're scenario is more likely 🤦‍♂️

I think the opposite.

Start as you mean to go on. Show your intent/purpose/mentality early on.

You win those, there’s no better start.

Conversely we do our usual beat Wycombe, Lincoln at home, Charlton away etc then we’re dreading the capitulation again.

A Wrexham away, Wigan home start while giving me palpitations for 2 months would strangely have me up for it again.

Wycombe at home wouldn’t.

Talk of fixtures seen on sky sports L1 clubs get 20 live games each next season

Any spare clients refs for Blackpool or Wrexham lads? :)

Aye - very much a "half full or half empty" scenario. While you can make a case for other teams you can dismiss it as well. In recent years the division has had plenty of "sleepers" who you knew could latch on to momentum - the Sheffields, Sunderland, Ipswich, Derby and Pompey. Along with us. But of the ones left after this season you're not looking at any of that magnitude (unless maybe someone came in and really had Charlton make the most of their potential fan base). Yes, Peterborough, Barnsley will do their usual stuff; Lincoln might even keep their late momentum going. Brum and Huddersfield came down for a reason and will need to build while Wrexham need to go up a notch despite their Hollywood backing. So we've as much chance as anyone to get off to a good start and dominate. Part of that is getting rid of the Wigan, Stockport etc hoodoo.

That's my "half full" rant. Of course I could do "half empty" as well...

That will happen for sure once people realise how many games are not going to be 3PM Sat anyway.

We had an opportunity to really kick- on with this momentum and it’s gone.

A really really strong start is the only thing that will get it back because people won’t forget this any time soon.

Mental strength is the most important thing within a football club and we have zero.

I don’t trust this lot and never have.

If they were 4 points top with a game to go they would still find a way to fuck it up.

I'll be able to get us in the home end at Stockport if required

I'm sure with all the L1 games live on Sky they will want to start with a big showcase game so no doubt it will be them against us or Brum

What a way for Sky to start this new era of coverage, an interview with Ryan Reynolds
